Hey all! Long time lurker to this incredible site but first time poster.

Suffered with chronic pain for a fair while but occasional dabble in recreational use. I’ve been on a fentanyl patch for a while now, recently reduced it to 12mcg/hr from 25mcg/hr which I’m glad about. Was prescribed methadone for breakthrough pain (under a very specialist team for pain so they’re a bit rogue with the meds ha) and it worked well (tho no recreational value sadly!) but stopped working so well when I reduced the patch. Basically took too long to take effect. Methadone being a very slow acting drug!

So they switched me to Oxycodone! Which I was very excited to try…! 5mg capsules. My main question is… I’ve tried taking a few different dosages. 20mg first. Not much of anything. Then I went up to 40mg. Nothing really either. Took 20mg and snorted 20mg. The capsules have super fine powder which is great BUT only 5mg so a lot of bulk annoyingly!

Is it the fent blocking the receptors? Or is my tolerance just high from the fentanyl patch? Even tho it’s only 12mcg? Anyone with any similar experience?

Thanks!
