what are the major differences betweed oxycodone and oxycontin?, is oxycodone as bas as oxycontin?

Ummm, also, what's the difference between Acetaminophen & Paracetamol? Which one has more recreational value?
RxList

Oxycodone is the active ingredient in Oxycontin. Oxycontin is merely a brandname. It's kind of like at the supermarket, in the cereal aisle, they have the REAL Kellogg's Rice Crispies and then they have the cheap "Crisp Rice Flakes" or something like that. Oxycontin would be Rice Crispies and stuff like Percocet would be Crisp Rice Flakes (the generic version). They're basically the same. It's not quite that simple though, go on RXList to find out info on what exactly is inside your pills, an acetaminophen overdose would not be good.

Percocets aren't the generic version of Oxycontin. Percs are brandname Oxycodone/APAP. Oxycontin are brand name Oxycodone. Both are time release.

I think you meant to say "both are not", because I know you know your shit.
For everyone else, Percocet and it's generic forms like Percodan, Roxicet and Endocet are NOT time release.

The cereal analogy made this much more confusing than it really is...and like Deus said it is inaccurate.
Simply put, the active ingredient in Oxycontin is oxycodone.
is oxycodone as [bad] as oxycontin?
Drugs aren't bad and if they were opiates and opioids would still be good.

Not to offend anyone, but I believe that Percocets are instant release. Especially with the 5/325 percs, SR would not be very effective. Oh, same applies to roxicet, endocet, etc.

I'm sorry, my mistake then. I'm going to refrain from posting while under the influence of dilaudids from now on.
