i have been taking oxycodone for a while now, roughly around 5 months or so... Last night i took 7.5mg of a roxicodone. i was fine for a while until i went to bed and had my last smoke (cigarette). The smoke gave me that anxious first smoke of the day feeling and than my legs were even more tired... i did have a long days work however. I literally like fell asleep and then i woke up in a glimpse of a few seconds that felt like a while. I immediately felt very* shallowed breathing. My anxiety then kicked in and i got right up out of bed, my heartbeat than started pumping alot faster, around 3 or 4 times the normal if youd ask me, so fast that it gave me a faint feeling. After that i was about to give up.... put my shoes on and went for a walk, once i went outside everything went better. After the walk, i only had a little nasuea and anxiety from the episode but can i complain. any suggestions to what happend? thanks

i took 2 advils for a headache 2 hours before this
i also took sour straws into consumption (sugar purposes)

You took 7.5, is that your normal dose, or did you split a 15? How much had you been smoking during the time before ur taking the meds, and after ur last smoke did you more or less pass out for the night? I'mIm no expert on this, but Ive dropped the catalog of of psychedelics, and Im guessing unless your eyes were dilated for weeks at a time then damage would maybe set in. But I picture a seen from a Clockwork Orange, where your eyes were set unable yo blink, and the eyes eventually drying out and game over.

And I don't know if your parents ever told you about the 3 college kids during the 70's that dropped acid and stared at the sun for so long they went blind, fact is that LSD doesn't interfere with the cerebrum, so you would never stare at something into total blindness or harm of anyway guessing here you could have had sleep paralysis, youd be amazed how fast the body can fall into an anesthetic like state, the bitch of it is you are paralyzed until your body snaps out of it. You can see and here whats going on but simply cant move. This has happened to me several times, and I smoke as well, and I cant tell you how many sets of sheets Ive ruined, Pj bottoms, and so on.

Being that you been on the drug for 5 months your body has built up a tolerance to it, and it is a pretty low dose, that you took. If I may ask what is the total amount you take on a daily basis, just to show you that what happened was a fluke. But you can never be too careful, call up your doc, and get a work up done just to be sure

i been taking around 7.5 a day and sometimes when i have a day off I take it in the morning as well. I had a certain episode like this when snorting opana er. I took it and then my heart got so damn fast 10 min later, so fast where i was about to call 911. i have anxiety and i know what a fast heart beat is. this was deff different. it was like i went for a few sprints. I do have a cofee in the morning and alot of gatorade during the day. I have cigarettes during the night with the oxycodone but i think im going to stop them after this.

Perhaps just your nerves, but like you said you know anxiety. Really sounds like you just freaked yourself out a bit. Only other explanation I can think of is that you were in minor withdrawals, but you took your oxy shortly before and don't seem to have too bad a habit to get withdrawals hours later.

It could be anxiety, could also be an allergic reaction.

I would consider stopping your consumption of oxycodone or at least reducing your usual dosage.

Maybe it was a combo effect with your fatigue plus:

1.) dehydration from working -- ie higher dose in system

2.) cigarettes are inflammatory, which can affect lung function, also see 1

3.) small allergic/sensitivity response made visible by one and 2 and fatigue?

combination of 3, none of the above
