Oxy too good...gone too quick!

Hello all! I have been taking oxy per prescription for a few weeks now, and I have found that it is gone way too quick. Does anybody have suggestions for a comparable painkiller (Oxycontin in particular is what I've been prescribed). Don't get me wrong...it produces AWESOME feelings, but I take it for severe pain due to a back injury. I am up to the highest (80mg), and am given 60 per month. I don't want to become a TOTAL addict, but I need serious pain relief for my excruciating back injury. I will truly appreciate any suggestions and/or advice anyone is willing and/or able to share with me. Thanks so much! -Pud'nHead

So are you saying you want something that relieves your back pain or something that will get you high? It seems like you have a legitimate need for it, but are abusing it. So you can't really complain when it runs out...I don't know what else you'd ask for, as the oxycontin seems adaquate for your pain, you just blow through it. I would suggest some heroin if you enjoy the recreational uses of the oxy and that's what you want (recreational uses). I don't know if you've ever tried heroin, but please just research it as you would any other drug first. Maybe I'm totally missing your question though...But maybe you should try taking the oxy as prescribed for your pain if you're just looking for some pain relief.
Your post just seemed a little confusing to me...maybe you can rephrase it with a direct question as to what you really want to know.

The only two very potent opiates I've tried for pain relief are oxycontin and mscontin. The oxycontin was really good for pain relief but really I didn't find the time release effective enough and had to take a bit more to compensate. The mscontin's time release was remarkable for me, sometimes a pill in the morning and a pill at night and I wouldn't even need one the next day. The euphoria doesn't compare though. However I had 40mg oxycontin 1 per day, so if you get 60 of the 80mg (2 per day?) then I can't imagine what would beat that, however I haven't used any of the opiates stronger than those two so I can't say. Your results may vary.

You need to read the forum guidelines before you post. You obviosly havn't. There are no OC post allowed. So don't post any more topice relating to them. They'll only wind up getting locked...

^ i think he is asking for other pain medications besides oxy that might help him. yeah this might get closed due to too many oxy posts , but you should read the whole thing before jumping on his ass about the forum guidelines or at least give him some info about other painkillers before it gets closed.
if your in real pain and need 24 hour relief and oxy is just too easy to use up quick then I would try to get fentanyl patches. This way , you will feel nice , but once you have one on ,it is what it is and you don't need to worry about using them up because putting on one more patch could put you in the danger zone and as that being a concern , you won't be as tempted to slap another one on. Although in time you would need more fentanyl to get relief so it would only be a temporary solution.
What back injury did you get to qualify for these meds? and do you just complain of pain , or can they see where the problem lies in an x-ray or MRI???
