Hi, might be a stupid question but have anyone here taken Verapamil (200mg/d) and Oxycontin (30-60mg/d) together (also using Lyrica 600mg/d, Ibuprofen/Codeine(200/30mg x4-8/d sometimes Tizanidine and rarely benzos)? I was just wondering that does Verapamil interact Oxys metabolism by inhibiting CYP3A4? I have read lots of studies but didn’t find anything conclusive. Those medications are all legally prescribed for me but for different reasons. Now I suddenly have a situation where I need to add Verapamil to the mix and I am just wondering that would Verapamil potentiate Oxy which in this case would not be desirable? Don’t get me wrong, I am looking for the lowest amount of Oxy that would keep my pains in tolerable state.

Another stupid question involves Codeine and Oxy. I am using Oxycontin twice a day and for bp those Ibu/cod pills as prescribed. Now I am feeling that Codeine is actually weakening my Oxys ability to control my pain. Is that possible? I know something about how both drugs metabolizes and I was just wondering, that can Codeine use my CYP2D6 enzymes and leave Oxys metabolism more for CYP3A4 to handle?

My doc was involved in a bad car accident and I don’t have 200€ to pay for another doc for such a tiny questions. Public health care is already pushed to the limits in here and they wouldn’t probably answer anything that I wouldn’t already know.

Ps. Haven’t written anything with my right arm for maybe six months + My English skills sucks in the first place, so hopefully someone understands what I’m asking:?!

Thanks in advance
