Is owning a test kit considered probable cause?

Are there any excuses that can justify the possession of a kit?

Are they perfectly legal to own and transport in a vehicle?

AND, would it possibly be illegal to possess a kit in a dormitory such as in college housing?

thanks for any info!

They are completely legal to own - have in your car or on your possesion.

You dont need to explain to anyone anything as they are not a restricted item - IF you needed to explain your interested in organic chemistry and like to experiment with certain household objects to see what happens. Sugar, Asprin, vitamin tablets etc - so what your weird its not an offense :D

Just a side note: don't keep one stored in your car. Heat and other factors (such as sulfuric acid bouncing around in your car) should be taken into consideration when handling kits. Keep them in a dark, cool, dry place. :)
