Overdoses - self help

I just wondered whether there was a thread on this already and what general advice would be in a case where someone thinks they have overdosed.
For example if you took too much codeine or something and started feeling like your respiration rate and depth was really low what could you do? While it is obviously best to get medical help I know I definitely would not like to have to phone an ambulance to explain what I've done and have "drug user" on my record.

I know usually people say "oh take this" or something but if you don't have any of those opiate reversals what would you do? Would a moderate dose of caffeine and making sure you keep up and about the best thing? Or is it not possible to mentally override an overdose (I'm not talking massive ones, just a "well this is uncomfortable" sort).
Anyone have any personal experience with this, and what did you do?
Thanks for any help.

And if people could list some advice on overdoses of stimulants or other drugs too, that'd be cool. It's sure to be helpful to someone.

Note: Getting medical help is always best, I'm just stupid.

Get a stimulant with tons of PNS power. This will make your breathing skyrocket.

a epi pen is the way to go for small overdoses. larger overdoses, require much more, like antagonist drugs, airway management, etc... that you can't give to yourself.

Naloxone. (for opioid OD, of course.) Stops it dead in it's tracks, although re-dosing and other forms of resuscitation might be needed as well if it's a straight up total "bam you're dead" type of OD, to restart breathing or bring the heart out of fibrillation.

Basically, don't OD. At least not without a doctor and crash cart present.
