Opioids Overactive bowel sounds

So as of the past few days I've been taking a pretty good amount of oxy. About 60-90mg per day. I have been having extremely overactive bowel sounds lately and I'm not sure what is causing it. Any ideas?

Opioids cause Illeus which is a decrease in motility and moisture in the gastrointestinal tract, causing indigestion, belching, and gas which in turn cause hyperactive abdominal sounds.

Okay so completely normal? I have kind of been binging a little bit so I was just worried. My tolerance has skyrocketed quick. I need to take a break.

If the sounds are only present during opioid use, it's completely normal, but I would recommend you eat healthy (fruits and leafy vegetables) to promote functional digestion.

Yes. Only during opiate usage. I will definitely try that starting tomorrow. Thank you for the professional responses!

I would slow down on them. It's scary how tolerance jumps quickly isn't it?
Make yourself drink fluids and eat healthy to keep yourself hydrated.

Yeah man, although opioids constipate you, they definitely can give you some pretty massive gas. One of the reasons that opiates have always been very appealing to me is their constipatory (not a word, i know) properties. I have IBS to begin with, so when I'm using opiates I actually have the bowel functions of a normal human being. Instead of a dozen runny shits a day (which i experience sober, eating healthy etc.) i get a nice solid morning BM while on opiates. Fucked up existence of mine. Your gaseous functions, on the other hand, are completely normal for the amount of opioids you've been consuming. And i'll reiterate what some previous posters have said, if it's scaring you how fast your tolerance is going up, now is the time to stop, or at least take a break. It's all downhill from here.

If you've only been taking them for a couple of days then I personally see no point in taking them for a longer period of time. I don't think the period that you've used them warrants a taper. If anything a taper would probably make your withdrawal worst.

If you've only been taking them a few days, as you mentioned in OP, a taper shouldn't be necessary.

I have been taking them on and off for almost 3 years now with small periods of soberness. I will get sick after one day without.

I apologize for not giving the full story here. A little more background. In the past I would usually only stick to percocet or hydrocodone. This time I have found a connect to roxycodone and oxycontin so I have been taking a lot more;therefore, my tolerance has skyrocketed quick. I was sober for about 30 days from November to December and then started using kratom then moved back to hydrocodone. Then to 512's then onto to the roxy and oxycontin.

We are in the same boat and I hate having IBS too. Blackjack, approximately how many mg oxy are you using per day? It's hard to say how to taper. Seems your steady recent usage and the fact if you go a day without you feel sick, indicates you have become somewhat dependent.

Say if you're taking 90 mg a day, try to cut that down to 60 for a couple days. It would be ideal to do it quickly as opposed to dragging out the inevitable. Do you have any kratom left? That can help loads with your symptoms of withdrawal.

I don't have kratom left but I can easily get it at a local headshop. For the past week or two I've been using at least 60mg a day. So I think starting tomorrow I will go to 30mg/ day for two days. Than 15mg/day for 2 days and so on and so forth. I'm kind of a wuss when it comes to d/t so that's why I want to taper
