I'm not talking about the condensation trails, those photos I took display the electromagnetic ripples of HAARP.
 
Same old BS, masks are useless, we shouldn't lock down ever, COVID is nothing to worry about, Bonnie Henry is a disgusting person, etc.

Too bad the science shows the opposite. Basic physics here: the virus spreads in respiratory droplets, masks help block those droplets, thereby reducing contagion.[ref1][ref2][ref3]

The way I see it, if a cheap cloth mask can provide even a little protection, then it's worth using it.

This is almost like insisting that condoms don't work to prevent pregnancy...

Where do you live?

How unlikely that is entirely depends on where you live and the demographics of who you know.

I love in Australia so it's be surprising if I did know someone here who had covid.

While my family in the US have certainly known people who've had it.

Some people don't wanna believe in covid, because of that, they politicize and then reject what they see as symbols of that belief.

And that leads them into immensely stupid positions such as arguing that masks don't help with reducing transmission of disease.

It's really a great example of everything wrong in America today.

I say today because in 1918 there were mask rules and by most accounts most people complied with them. The government of the day argued if was the civic duty of all Americans to wear a mask.

Now Americans have convinced themselves they are about individualistic freedoms and choice above all else even if it means putting their fellow citizens at risk.

EDIT: hey! This appears to have been my 10,000th post. Not as good as I might have liked, but could do a lot worse too. :D

I've sure ramped up my posting a lot since I got on methadone.

I completely agree. Again, rewatch Contagion. I mean if the public knew about antibiotic resistant MSRA in hospitals they'd have a shit (? thats kinda a bad medical joke, but there you go, no pun intended). The human cost surrounding the pandemic will probably be more than the actual pandemic itself.

I wore a mask, that I didn't wash, from Best Buy months ago. The trick is there was no seal around the mouth. Useless. You keep touching your face the entire time adjusting it, etc.

Ok, here's a test. Go buy some black paint. Get your hands reaalllll dirty with it. Now go wash them for a couple minutes. Did that remove all the black paint? No it didn't.

I'm not. This is nursing 101. This was literally an exercise from nursing. I washed my hands thoroughly for probably close to 10 mins. Were my hands clean? No. I missed a spot. What did I do within the next 30 minutes or so? I probably touched my face.

You cannot stop or prevent an airborne virus. Especially when it transmits by aerosols. It literally exists in the air for hours and on surfaces for hours. Bacteria lives on surfaces for weeks.

Hell, I never wore gloves when I cleaned an office tower at my job for years. Maybe a few times. And that was during the whole craze of putting in hand sanitizers, everywhere.

Now, transfer this attitude and lack of pay to nursing homes. The amount of staff that do not give a fuck would blow your mind. Further, the amount of nursing staff that are sick ALL THE TIME would blow your mind as well. Nursing homes are some of the dirtiest places on the face of the earth. The bacteria stands up and says hello there. Covid? Not the scariest thing in there.

The masks are to mitigate, not to stop or prevent.

It isn't perfect and that's completely irrelevant.

I really am baffled this talking point rages on...

I disagree with how Trump has handled COVID (because I believe in protecting the vulnerable) but I'm young and fit and I seriously doubt it would make me sick. I'm not afraid of it in the slightest. If you look at hospitalization rates demographically, most people under the age of 50 have very mild flu-like symptoms. I've been through hell with addiction and withdrawal so many times that the flu is nothing to me now. It is a walk in the park. I hardly notice it.

and, yeah, covid probably is a lot less troubling when you only think about yourself.

but it's a whole different context when you think about others and consider that you could have it, be asymptomatic and pass it on to a more vulnerable person...

It is when some areas are going into lockdown DURING Christmas retail season. I'm not anti-mask, if a business wants to enforce that policy and conduct a ROAR on private property by all means. I mean BC is just mandating a mask policy now (wtf? how is that even possible?). But the hypocrisy, just like mr. expert pathologist stated, is that all these lockdown measures as a society are like playing russian roulette with yourself. Maybe if the death rate for corona was higher, you could have a legit lockdown. Like sci-fi shit that the breeze is alive like in that Marky Mark movie. They've waaaay overstepped their position. More people in BC are dying of overdoses than corona (lol from the effects of coronavirus). Just to use one example.

But that's an old clip. He probably goes on to say something like you don't actually die from Corona, etc.

It's also kinda bullshit. People keep acting like covid will either kill you or you'll be fine. But there's been quite a lot of otherwise healthy people suffering long term health complications from having had it.

And frankly, if you risk your health, it better be cause drugs are fking awesome because otherwise it's really foolish.

What is quite a lot?

How can we say long term when the virus has existed for less than a year?

We can say long term as in "well beyond the point at which they should have recovered".

If you have the flu, then 6 months later still severe fatigue or something. That would be a long term complication. How long term it is we don't know for the reason you just said.

What is quite a lot? A hell of a lot more than the number of young people who die from it. Which is also a non zero number to use the phrase of trumps lawyers.

EDIT: after having a quick look, people with long-term effects seem to be elderly and vulnerable people... and long term effects or "long-COVID" typically lasts a couple of weeks or a couple of months.
