I reach out for you
Stumbling through the maze
Of my own creation
Following in your ethereal footsteps
Lost inside the dark shadows
Of my soul
Taking heart from the bright lights
That surround you
As you lead me forever
Deeper into us
And our confusion
What are we doing here?
This endless chase
Denies us both happiness
Yet still we dance like puppets
To a masters hand
For a brief second I see you closer
But then, like a wild animal
You pull away again
Leaving me behind
Once more
There is no explanation
No past to compare to
No future to look forward to
Only this brief bright second
Of insanity and passion
I can't help but believe it
Chasing you like a reflection in the water
Loving you yet fearing
To destroy you by getting too close
And then it would be forever gone
Endless and timeless
We'll dance forever
Without hope or fear
Passion fueled
But I will never reach you
Nor will you stop to let me
Alone but not alone
We are as one
Yet
Still apart forever
In love
