Other halogen flies?

I got to thinking today about bromo-dragonfly. Both the phenylethylamines and the psychedelic amphetamines have multiple halogen derivatives, i.e 2c-b c and I, DOB C and I. Yet there is only bromo-dfly. Does anyone know why this is the case? Have they been synthesized? Are they for some reason inactive? Or any other thoughts on the subject?

Hi ToxicFerret,I am new here, and I don't know much about the drugs you are talking about but I did take over the counter car sickness tabs before and had the most wicked hallucenations

please keep posts like this to a minimum. if youd like to talk about antichlorinergic deliriants then do so in a thread about them.
OP, i too am interested in BDF like compounds. there seems like there could be a chance at something that beats LSD's potency. the duration of BDF scares me though, idk if i could trip that long. the only other fly i know of being tasted is 2c-b fly, you can read about it here - http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/2cb_fly/2cb_fly.shtml

What the hell does that have to do with anything? By the way, Dramamine is unbelievably bad for you. Back on topic, I don't know why, but I've been wondering that myself.

Man what a weirdo! I know due to the number of valence electrons all the halogens can accept one atomic bond so in my highly limited theoretical knowledge any of the other halogens could take the place of the bromine atom. Practical limitations the potential candidates are limited to chlorine and iodine besides bromine.

Br-DFLY is the only one on the market because everyone assumes other members of the class (iodo-DFLY, chloro-DFLY, trifluoromethyl-DFLY) will act the same (i.e. as potent hallucinogens). I don't see any reason why this would be incorrect.

I have a feeling Nichols has synthesized them somewhere at sometime, but maybe they haven't made their way to the literature.

DOB-FLY and 2CB-dragonfly have certainly been sold as well, but not as named compounds that I'm aware of, rather sold on blotters as "acid" or sold as 2CB-FLY or bromo-dragonfly but then the testing lab found it to be something slightly different. And there have been rumors of 2CC, D & I-FLY and even 2CT7-FLY having been synthesised but they have certainly never hit the commercial market as yet. Same with NBOMe-2CB-FLY about which there are a few reports in the literature, but no one ever seems to have tasted it. I think most suppliers of these compounds freaked out a bit after all those bromo-dragonfly deaths to be honest!!

If we see another one it will be Chloro-DFly I think. There was talk about it making an appearance a while back. Perhaps it would be more forgiving than Bromo-DFly.

I personally am not a huge fan of giant multiday tripping so I'd be a bit wary about trying any of the flies. I don't blame suppliers for being wary, if anything they should never have let such a potent drug be released as 2c-e. I understand it may have been a mixup on the manufacturer level as well but christ get yer gear tested if you are an online RC supplier.

Is there any reason to suggest that any such variatons would be qualitatively different enough to be interesting?

Nichols once commented that while the deaths from bromo-dragonfly were tragic, he's glad that it was only that compound that made it out, as "something else" closely related had shown itself to be hepatocarcinogenic. People made it sound like he was being a dick, but really he meant at least the deaths from bromo were limited, versus some compound that would give 90% of users cancer.

So who knows what that was, maybe the chloro / iodo sub? I am sure he synthed the other halogenated dragonflies. You'd have to ask him why they were never published.

At those assumed low doses? granted it doesn't take much of certain toxins to cause acute organ failure but carcinogens are generally risky over long exposures rather than one-time events?

Curious.
