Orange peel with buds to rehydrate?

I got some buds that are a little more dry than I like. I've heard of people using orange peels, but I'm afraid of it getting too wet and growing mold. What's the perfect ratio of orange peels to weight of bud? Are we talking about the full orange peel here? Thanks a bunch for the help. I'd like to start before it dries out any more. Also, could I put it all in a big mason jar with a couple peels or would it be better to use smaller ones? Thanks.

Just stick a 2inch by 2inch piece in your bag. Check it every hour and see if it's moist enough. then discard the peel

thats what i do or if i dont have any kind of peel i use some wet paper towel in an open baggie put in the jar(occasionally i used brandy instead of water which gives a nice aroma to stuff that lacks it) but orange peel is the all around best unless you need a lot of hydration then wet paper towel.

The efficacy of this depends on how much herb is in the bag though. I read a recommendation on another forum to use one baby carrot per 28g and check frequently, then remove the carrots once theherb is optimal. How does this ratio and procedure sound?

I find the drier my weed the better it is personally... grinds up real nice too.

Does the orange peel give it much of a flavour?

Overly dry weed is like smoking "dragons breath" a fake name I made up for crappy too dry weed.

If you like oranges, then use oranges. Crappy weed? who cares if it tastes like oranges.

But if you like the taste of what you've got already, then use carrot slices, about four or five or six of them and this will only take about an hour and a half for about a quarter ounce or so (evenly distributed of course). Check every half hour. The more carrot slices the faster the re-hydration will go.

Storing weed extremely dry is my preference certainly. Buying it dry is also great! But smoking it requires a little moisture to prevent burning up too fast and making it harsh.

Alternative vegetables are: potato

I don't like apple, orange or anything else that gives it a flavor.

ya orange peels are great for keeping or hydrating bud and it gives the buds a nice lil added orange zest DELIZIOSO!

Zest is the key...make sure all the pith - the bitter inner white layer is scraped off the peel
It's the oil in the zest that makes it work, so apples, carrots dont do the same thing...

There's nothing wrong with a little dry, but there is a lot of bud that is TOO dry and doesn't even smoke right. And, in general, bud with the right amount of moisture will smoke much better than otherwise.

Oil doesnt evaporate dude

And yeah I agree the drier to harsher, but I have had really dry bud the smoked wierdish like really fast and harsh that does nothing. I really dont think how dry it is makes difference really but ive just always had a good high when its dry! Then again I had some weed that felt almost soft and slightly moist that blew my socks off... Comes sown to cannabinoid content and if anything I would have thought the drier the more cannabinoid degradation.

Anyway, back to the topic, im going to give orange peel a try to rehydrate some super dry shit I got just to seethe difference.

And if all else fails use a small piece of bread.. It works quick and doesn't mess w/ the taste of the green as long as you don't leave it in there to long..
I've been using this method for a while now, works wonders.

You can put the (opened) weed bag into a bigger bag with a small and slightly damp sponge in it for bigger quantities, checking once every hour or so. Makes dry pounds fluffy and adds a little bit of weight lost from over dehydration. Just don't forget to close the casing bag, mason jar, or whatever you prefer, and don't be afraid of opening it up once every now and then for some much needed air to help keep it fluffy as possible.

Incorrect mate.
Nothing wrong with a bit of pith. Apple or carrot would work.
Potato peel also works a treat.

I eat oranges like there's no tomorrow and have always stuck some orange peel in my cannabis bottle as soon as I get it home. I love oranges and I love orange scented weed. I also like dampish weed because it burns slower and lasts longer, for me.

I have to be careful about the orange peel in the container though because it molds quicker than a carrot or an apple. I've used all kinds of stuff to hydrate my medicine, and I like orange peel the best, but I have to watch it more carefully to be sure I don't forget about it and ruin the medicine.

I always thought this was some dumb urban myth about if you put orange peels in the same bag with weed it will make it stronger, hella dumb kids at my high school said that stuff lol.

That;s cool that it helps hydrate it!

Great info/tips though, thanks guys!
