Oral morphine

My friend has some oral morphine tablets. Do these have a recreational value, or will they just knock you out? What would be a good dose, if they can indeed be used for something other than pain relief?

of course they have rec value, morphine is a founding father of the opiate family...
unfortunately, morphine isn't absorbed that well orally, so the rec dose would be on the large size. To give you a rough idea: 5-10mg hydrocodone orally = 60 mg morphine orally.
Are they MS Contins? Becasue I have *never* heard of people outside of hosptials getting their hands on these things. Well done.

This is a two parter first is a little have learned about the drug and the second is a few questions that I have been curious to find he answer to.
I have a half a bottle full of MS contins, even after I had scraped the extended release off of my pills(2) I was about to ingest, I than crushed the two finely and I ate them. A total of 60mgs of Morphine Sulphate, they did little. I even tried snorting them once with minimal effects just a nasty backdrip in my throat, so I've never tried that again.
So from what I'm reading does that mean someone with a low-moderate tolerance for opiates must take 120mgs of MS to even compare to 40mgs of hydrocodone and a person with my hydrocodone tolerance must take 150 to 155mgs of MS Contin? How safe wold that be? Is there anyway to extract the morphine and make it more oraly absorbable?

It's very hard to overdose on morphine orally, so don't be afraid to try a dose in the 120-160mg range, especially if you have some experience with opiates.
I have no experience snorting these things, so I'm not going to comment on the blowing vs oral route. But just so you know, "scraping" the pills will not interfere with the time-releases properties; crushing them, as you did, will.
There is a way to extract to the morphine, but I don't think it's safe, so fuggedaboutit.
