New OP's taken orally
No, there is no way to make the new OP's act like the original OC's. I have been taking (legit prescribed) 3/ 80mg per day. One can still use a cheese grater to make most of the tablet release at the same time. You simply pour the ground up particles on your tongue and swallow them fast with fluid, they go down sort of partially stuck together but this avoids getting any stuck in your teeth etc. When the tabs touch moisture they form a gel instantly so they are not usable for anything other than oral administration.
I also get plain Oxycodone 5mg (legal Rx) as well. I get the capsules which I can then pull apart and then pour in my mouth and swallow with some liquid. This is how I can compare the effects of taking a ground up 80mg OP or 80mg of the instant release. I like the powder in the caps best because they are most easily absorbed.
I do not understand why someone would not just take the regular instant release Oxycodone pills as opposed to a ground up 80mg Oxycontin as they will be 100% instant release and are less expensive as well, assuming one is wanting to take these orally.
The new OP formula appears to be less effective than the old OC formula when taken as intended. This is difficult to ascertain because the bulk of the complaints are made by people that do not like the fact they can no longer snort or inject them, so it is hard to differentiate between the two. However I personally think they are not as effective and when I have asked my pharmacist about people complaining about the new OP formula she told me that many patients are complaining...of course it is hard to tell how many of those people were using them as intended or not.
I am not particularly fond of eating plastic if I can avoid it.
