On my own.
I have a chance to buy some opium, now i am wondering, what should opium look like. The stuff i have a chance to get is white and its almost a powder, is this even opium? Can opium be white?
 
No. Opium is a black, tarry substance that smells like flowers. Beware "soapium", that shit that High Times sells that is an incense, also black, tarry, and smells like flowers.
Other types such as white or red opium are false (could be any number of things -- the red tends to be dragonsblood incense, where as the white "rock" opium PhreeX came across turned out to be violin wax, where as you have a white unnamed powder that I've never heard of being sold as opium). Please use the search engine for your further questioning, because this one's been answered 8-friggin'-million times already.

in my experience, if you know what a resin ball looks like, you know what opium looks like. whenever I got opium it was black and tarry, I never smelled it though. don't get whatever you're talking about, it might be coke, but I don't know. whoever you're getting it from just ask them to smoke some with you.
 
Heheh, someone gave a friend of mine some 'white rock opium' that I almost instantly identified as the levmethamphetamine(the chunk of chemical inside those Vicks inhalers.) That black tarry 'herbal opium' that is sold in high times magazines actually smells similar to real opium, but tastes exactly like it smells, whereas real opium tastes rather bitter.
 
just give the opium tea a shot, its cheap and this is the time of the year where you can find sales and healthy, fully mature pods........the problem is getting over choking the crap down, you will either throw up or being standing over the toilet in anticipation of hurling every time......but then again the effects last quite awhile while nauaea is brief
