Opioids Opium use before getting a tattoo

Hi Guys, my friend is getting a big tattoo soon. Its going to take 2x 4 hour sessions.

He had a few before including one big one similar size so he knows the crack.

Getting the ink done stings a bit but is also a little bit theraputic. Kinda enjoyable.

He isn't so experienced with opium however does like the buzz.

I just wanted to get thoughts on getting high on opium before getting the tattoo. Would it help with the pain? (not that its a problem anyway). He likes the thought of sitting back and chilling right out while its being done, taking his mind to another place, while enjoying the sensation of getting the tattoo...

Are there any major reasons with this is a bad idea?

ofc it would help with the pain, you ( or your friend) will feel less pain

with opium you will feel les pain, with morphine too, with fentanyl, with heroin...with any opiate you will feel less pain

It's a bad idea because if your friend likes it then he will find more reasons to get tattoos and stay high. Anytime someone takes opiates it's only a matter of time before they slip off the edge and get hooked.

Most people that get tattoos just deal with the pain and pretend that they are not present. Some report out of body experiences.

yes you are right, i forgot to advice that is very easy to fall in addiction with opiates, and then experience: pleasure-pain-pleasure-pain, its crazy

my body is covered in tats. ive gone in doped up each and every time. did it help? who knows. were there problems. no, none at all. have i heard different before? yes. i am a junk fiend so my tolerance/exposure is a lot different. also, i am covered in tattoos from head to toe, so again, my tolerance is a bit different. if your friend can do it with no drugs then id suggest that. if he's set on taking pain killers to get the tat then start w/ a low dosage to see how he feels after the first half hour or so. take the shit before you get to the place, this way you already feel it before the tattoo even begins.

like said above, you take opiates for a reasons, then its a matter of time before the reason is to just get through the day. stay away if you can but if you cant talk him/her out of it then start slow and see what happens. they tell you NOT to drink/drug before tats cuz it thins out the blood and that could lead to you passing out. all depends on this persons tolerance and tattoo exp in general.
