I’ve been drinking poppy tea on and off for the past month, mostly on, and today was an on day. I also had been munching on some pot cookies I had recently made, and had gotten pretty buzzed by the time I decided to try some of the new 15x Salvia Extract I've had laying around for a while. The cookies were giving me some slight visual distortions like color shifts and changes in the way plants look.
I read a post on a message board asking what the effects of salvia with an opiate might be. Since I was on an opiate, I figured I might as well try it out. I was thinking they may potentiate each other, so I didn’t want to go overboard. I was also thinking the opium tea would prevent the headache and irritability I always get after a salvia experience.
I measured out .1g and then took about half of that and loaded it into a pipe bowl with a small amount of salvia leaf to prevent the small 15x pieces from going through the hole in the bowl. I figured this was equivalent to about .7g of salvia leaf, which I’ve smoked before with good effects.
Deciding on the bedroom, I drew the shades and closed the door so the cat wouldn’t bother me. I sat down on the corner of the bed and did a bit of breathing to calm and center me.
I lit the bowl.
I burned it hot and finished the whole bowl. I held it in while feeling minimal effects. Eventually I exhaled, wondering if I had used enough but knew to wait. I felt it coming, then a conk on the head and I was out for a second. I've never experienced the conk on the head feeling. I was literally passed out for a second.
When I came to, I was aware of some kind of wall of psychedelic colored light coming toward me. It stopped at the edge of the bed, and 1/3 of me was enveloped in it. That 1/3 felt the pressure sensation common with salvia. I was aware of colors moving and swirling on the surface of the wall. I looked at the carpet where the wall wasn’t covering, and soon everything on it had a green aura around it. I moved my hand and it too had an aura around it when i held it over the carpet.
This whole time I had a very clear head. I didn’t feel intoxicated, well any more than I did before smoking the salvia. However, I was having very vivid open eye visuals, similar to some really good acid trips.
The trip was lasting longer than I was used to, or at least it seemed it was. I got up and went into the living room to see what the cat was up to. Color had a rainbow glow to it, and the carpet looked kinda trippy. For a long while after I smoked the salvia, I could see a lacy web float over the carpet if I stared at it long enough.
I was slightly surprised by the strength of the experience, and need to try the 15x on its own to determine if the opium tea affected the trip. In fact the length was bothering me, but i think i just wasnt ready for a strong psychedelic experience right then.
It certainly was my most powerful salvia experience to date.
