Hey guys, completely new to opium, okay so If I'm not mistaken, I can grow the poppy, cut little slits for the sap to leak out, collect it, form it into a ball, wait a few days and I can smoke it? I'm from Canada, is it illegal to buy Opium Poppy seeds? If not where can I buy some, Ebay? I found "Red Opium Poppy Seeds - Papaver somniferum" on there,
so is that them?

If that's not the proper poppy seeds, where can I get proper ones, and if that question can be asked, then what poppy seeds (name of species) would I need. I don't really know how exactly illegal or legal opium is. I'm not interested in heroine, codeine or any of that, I just want to smoke what comes right from the plant, also what effects would I feel, I'm a marijuana user also.

Thanks guys.

We have a winner!

Since I'm a Canuck too I will enlighten you on the nitty gritty of opium in Canada. It's illegal. Very illegal - all parts of the poppy plant, once harvested or otherwise manipulated, are basically a schedule 1 drug. That's the most illegal you can get.

Opium poppy (Papaver somniferum), its preparations, derivatives, alkaloids and salts, including: Opium [...] poppy straw [...] but not including poppy seed.

The most you can do is grow the flowers for ornamental use, manufacturing or extraction of opium is illegal. If anyone sees you have a huge garden of poppy all with slit marks on them (you need a huge garden to get any useful yield) - game over.
