Opiods and Appetite Surpression?

Has anyone else noticed they don't get hungry like they would normally whilst on opiates? I've done a quick search on google for articles/studies related to this but only found a study investigating the effects of naltrexone on rats.
It reduced their intake of water and food.

If anyone has any information, anecdotal or otherwise, it'd be much appreciated :)

It's different for everyone. A lot of people report that they become very hungry on opiates, especially sweets, and eat a lot of junk food. Others report that they get more of an anorectic effect from opiates. I'm one of those people that will get loss of appetite on certain opioids and crave sweets on others.

I've noticed that the more stimulating opiates such as oxycodone have a more anorectic effect than others, but they all reduce my calorie intake. The stronger ones such as morphine, methadone, hydromorphone and buprenorphine nearly erase my desire to eat food, although the effect is less pronounced than with, say, amphetamines for example.

kokaino is right though, it does very considerably from person to person...

This is what I noticed ime (but yea, i guess it varies), for most opiate novices or advanced users that use enough to get a good nod, the appetite is suppressed, but when when using is to maintain and not even get really high (or its too difficult/expensive), it can be easily paired with food.

for example, in opiate w/d who wants to eat? or can hold down food? so like the first thing u do is bang so h and then u can eat....
