I think I may have found a conflict between the two drugs. I have never puked while chewing dip and I have never puked while on some sort of opiate (Ranging from OC15 to OP80's). Yet, the two times I popped a pain killer and then about an hour later packed a lip I have ended up sick.

I felt very uncomfortable for a while and eventually had to run to the bathroom to puke. I didnt make any hurling sound or anything, it just silently all came up, alot of it lol. :p Is there a conflict between the two drugs? I am also confident I didnt swallow any dip or anything each time.

While I am not aware of any direct interacting between nicotine and opiates, both of these drugs cause nausea to some degree, and it is possible (even probable) that in your situation, you don't get a level of nausea that causes you to vomit with opiates by themselves, or with nicotine by itself, but when combined they have a synergistic effect with each other and cause you to get sick.

This combo makes me sick as a dog, though I've never done enough of either to puke. Granted, I'm not a tobacco user and have only smoked hookah a few times, but still. The nausea/dizziness is definitely worse on opi8s.

I also don't think there is a "conflict" between the two, but the combination of tobacco (while I think its actually nicotine that is responsible for this) and opiates tends to increase nausea quite a bit. Did you find it was sort of a "i have to puke and now since I have I feel better" feeling? I tend to throw up from the combination, so you aren't alone.

My girl and I were discussing this. We both seem to get sick after the 5 hour mark. We van smoke cigs on oxys until the comedown, then we both get sick from them. I just knd of figured the comedown upsets my stomach and cigs can make someone feel sick so the combo puts it over the top

I can handle opiates without feelin nauseas at all. I have only taken up to a OP80 at once and I love it and feel 100% great. I feel there definitly is somehow a reaction between the two that causes nausea to logarithmically increase.

I might feel a tad unsettled, and then my mouth would start salivating very rapidly (its very wierd), along with the feeling I need to puke. And I puke and then almost instantly feel better. Its just the combo... idk.

It certainly is the combo. The fact that you feel better after you puke helps confirm this theory.

Not that I recommend puking all the time, I would consider using an anti-nausea drug with your opiates to reduce the frequency of vomiting/nausea.

I think it's your commitment to the tobacco. I just quit smoking cigs 2 weeks ago, but when I was smoking I had no problem doing it on Codeine, Oxy, Hydro, and even Morph. If you really want to smoke and never get nauseous, find promethazine, it's awesome cause it potentates the opiates and provides an ever better anti-nausea than pot IMO.

Im new to dipping. Ive done no more then a couple tins worth... but after my first couple lips I got quite comfortable with it.

Promethazine makes opiates more potent?

The fact that you don't really have a nicotine tolerance probably comes into play here as well.

Promethazine doesn't directly make opiates more potent. It potentiates them (mainly by increasing the sedation/nod, but through other factors as well).

This holds true for other sedating (think first-generation) antihistamines such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl) as well.

I was looking around and theres tons of things that can increase the glow to an opiate high. Benadryl is one of them.

I had another topic where I took a small amount of DXM and Benadryl and BOOM... trip!! Say only 100mg of benadryl and 150mg of DXM and I was hallucinating. Whereas normally I can take 500mg of either one and be fairly ok.

Sounds weird bro.

I'm an opiate user and cigarette smoker, and I LOVE smoking right after blowing a Smurf (play on words, lol).

I think it's either just because of the dip, which I don't do, or your body just can't handle the oxycodone/nicotine combination.

Good luck!

This is actually fairly common. I used to get sick once in a while on opiates when I smoked cigarettes. Like I'd feel totally fine and I'd really be enjoying having some smokes then, bam- one cigarette too many and I'd feel like puking.

Both Nicotine and Opiates are toxic to us. Maybe using both drugs raises the level above the Km of whatever liver enzymes break those compounds down.

I love smoking while on opiates. I think I am going to close this thread because all it will lead to is endless speculation. Opiates cause nausea and so does tobacco, the combination may be a little too much for some and not for others. Most people I know love smoking on opiates, so maybe there is some underlying issue you need to talk to your doctor about or it may just be the mix of the two drugs, but we are not going to speculate further.
