Opiates & Hunger

Its seems when I take an opiate, I get very hungry about an hour afterwards. The hunger is worse than when I use to smoke ganja. I wish I didnt get hungry like this. Anyone else fall into this category?

i have noticed the same thing. and its always a very tasty snack.

i have also noticed that if i take an opiate one evening and the next evening i do not take any opiates, i am hungrier than usual and can eat a ton. my theory is that my mind desires the feeling i get from opiates so it tells my body to eat more in order to feel good. it seems to be my body's way of coping with "mini-withdrawal."

I just hate eating alot but when can you do, I dont like that starving feeling.

it's a sugar low from the opiates. be careful what you eat, opiates can make you vomit sometimes esp. the strong ones-morphine, heroin, hydromorphine, oxycodone, fentanyl(the one that causes me the most nausea).

I always eat an hour before I take my meds. What do you suggest to eat? I try & eat fruits & something light after I dose.

fruits and natural sugars are best, but if you are on a bad sugar low go for a chocolate bar, it can really help.

WOW!!! it has the total opposite effect on me. i never feel like eating while on hydrocodone. i lose weight when i use in fact b/c the effects on my appetite are that strong. i'm surprised as hell to read as many agreeing posts as this. crazy world i suppose.

if i've read enough BL in my past, you should eat HIGH FAT foods after dosing to boost your high..if u gotta eat at all that is.
