Hey,

For the past year I have dabbled with opiates here and there (percs, oxys, methadone, fentanyl and heroine). I have never used needles nor have I used daily, most the time I have done opiates was to come down from using cocaine.

The majority of my usage has been with methadone, as my girlfriend is on it and would offer me some when we come down from using cocaine, she is on 60 mills and the most I would do is 10 or 20.. which would give me quite a buzz.

The last time I used methadone was last tuesday (took about 15 mills) and then on the following day (wednesday) I did a little piece of a fentanyl patch which I found while cleaning our home.

Its been 3 days since I did the fentanyl and 4 days since I have done the methadone, I dont plan on using either of them for a very long time but I have noticed it is very hard for me to go to sleep, I have to keep moving my legs as they feel like they are never in the right position and I am very edgy!!

I know it could be a lot worse as some of the more serious symptoms are diarhea, vomitting, sweats etc... I am not experiencing nor have I have experienced any of those symptoms, but only getting an hour or two of very shallow rest per day is leaving me extremely agitated and very tired.. It also makes me look tired and affects my appearance!

How long will these symptoms last and when can I expect to get a nice full nights sleep again? I found smoking marijuana really helps but my stash has dissipated and I do not have the money to buy any more until monday!

One more thing, once the opiates are clear from my system and I am free from these horrible withdrawal symptoms will they come right back should I choose to do opiates per say once a month in the future?

Thanks in advance for the help, you guys are the best!

That will probably last about a week. Benzo's help considerably! Cannabis helps a great deal too. From experience, once addicted and with drawals felt, you're susceptible to feel it again at higher doses,or with strong opies. I was an addict for 10 years. Morphine was my poison.

Yah eh? Well I love the way they make you feel.. So content and comfortable, not to say that im not content sober but they just really are nice to take once in a while..

Somebody I work with said you can feel the withdrawal symptoms for up to 90 days?! Is there any truth to this or would this be for people in more extreme situations?

Depending on the severity of the addiction it could be in upwards of a month or so, from what it sounds your only an occasional user so a conservative estimate would you'd feel the symptoms for 3-4 weeks, again that's a conservative estimate. Get some excedrin PMs those should help you sleep.

Fuck a few weeks sounds like a long time! Im actually going through one of my sleepless nights right now.. Its 2:43 am and I cant lay in one position for more then a minute or so... God I hate this!

Thanks for the help guys, I know I will get better soon!

Just so ya know, withdrawal symptoms come and go at different times. The "90 days" thing may be just pertaining to the time for intense cravings to start dying down. You follow?

The "rls" type thing does go away much sooner than 90 days. Though insomnia may trail it, at least you won't be awake at night because you can't stop kicking and stretching! I find it extremely frustrating, so I understand your fear of it lasting and all.

You aren't a really heavy user, so you aren't going to be in physical pain for a month, or een 2 weeks. The once a month thing actually works, and I can tell you this from experience. However you will get extreme cravings right after doing it every time. But yeah you can probably do it for 2-4 days once a month and get away with little to no withdrawal symptoms. I find that 5-7 days is the mark where I start getting the vomiting and etc.(the overall feeling like you're dying). Even then, it only lasts REALLY bad for a day or two. If you've ever had it for a short time, you'll know every day is slightly less agonizing than the last.

Keep in mind this is my personal experience and yours may vary. It's how it effected me in the past. I can't be sure of how it'll hit you, unfortunately. Hope this gave you some stuff to think about, anyway. Take care in any case!

^^ Thanks a lot bro I appreciate the advice, and you are completely right it comes and goes.. Two nights ago I slept relatively well, last night I didn't fall asleep until about 3 am and was up at 9 am and still am..
