Hey there...swim is REALLY looking for some info from people with heroin and meth use.

Swim's background.

Swim is 23.

Swim has been using all drugs from age 18 to 22 mixing and matching pretty much all of them except Meth (which was started at 22). Swim never felt like any drugs did serious residual neurotransmitter or mood type damage until Meth. Swim's favorite drug before trying Meth was Opiates...most of the time Swim was snorting tons of pills or heroin on a daily or weekly basis. Swim is also a very healthy and fit individual and has plenty of money to support all these habits.

Here is what Swim would like some shared info on!

Like Swim said, Swim loved opiates and could always feel or enjoy them up until the time Swim did Meth. Before Meth, if Swim quit opiates for awhile...every time he went back to them they would be pleasurable again. When Swim turned 22 he went on a 1 year PURE ICE binge. At one point in time he was high everyday for 3 months...BUT...after these 3 months he took a 6 month break...then did another 1 month binge and then took another 6 month break. During these breaks he ate healthy and perfectly...went to the gym 5 days a week and never missed a meal or vitamin...literally beat the addiction 100% on his own and successfully. Today, swim feels great while sober and would consider his brain or happiness about 90% healed back to normal.

Swim spent about 20,000$ on Meth that year and was getting 1 gram of PURE ICE abroad for 50$ a gram...so you can imagine Swim took a FUCK TON of ice and did some decent damage.

Here is the problem

Currently Swim has not taken Meth in 6 months and has tried taking Opiates just a few times in this time. Everytime Swim does Opiates now he feels next to no pleasure from them. Swim feels great everyday while sober but feels worse when he takes Opiates?. Swim's dissapointed he cant feel or enjoy opiates anymore and is confused why he feels better sober then while on opiates.

Swim's question is...

Does prior Meth use permanently damage the ability to feel good off opiates...even after years of sobreity and health?

So far from Swim's experimentation he would say this is true.

Swim always uses high dosages in all his experiments.

I can't help much here but I would just like to say DO NOT USE SWIM ON THIS FORUM. It does not protect you at all.

Yeah I guess there is no point considering I don't even do any drugs anymore anyway. I want to but they just dont work on me anymore...they arent entertaining at all except Meth which literally doesn't exist where I live and have no interest in finding it anyway...I just really would like someone knowledgeable to clarify my situation just for peace of mind.

I get more high off L-tyrosine or fish oil after working out then anything.

If you ever want to beat an addiction I highly suggest L-tyrosine as the most powerful tool out there..

You can get it at vitamin shoppe

Meth does damage the dopamine/seratonin receptors in the brain. It is a highly neurotoxic drug and I wouldn't be surprised if you have damaged the pleasure part of your brain, however I'm surprised that you're alive after staying awake for 3 months straight on pure ice. If it was cut, then maybe I'd believe you, but not pure ice. That is definitely too much.

The good news is that the brain, with proper care and mental exercises is very resilient and you can create new pathways, generate new receptors and do all kinds of amazing body like stuff.

Also, I don't know my terminologies, so this probably sounds really dumb to more knowledgable peeps, but I think you'll be fine if you stop taking meth and start living healthy for a few years. You'll get your brain back.
