Opiate Tolerance

This is a question for people with high opiate tolerance. With a high tolerance can you feel or notice small amounts? If you are satisfied with 140mg of oxy for example, could you notice if you took 5-10mg? My friends say that their tolerance is so high they can't feel small amounts like that, but they still do small those amounts here and there more often than they do large amounts. My point is that if you did not feel or notice small amounts and it "did nothing to you" then why would you do it unless you actually can feel it? I have another friend with high tolerance and he does pks on a regular basis small amounts, but every once in a while high amounts. He has a high tolerance but he still does small amounts, so that means he can still feel it, but he would just prefer it at higher doses. They argue that they cannot feel 5-10 mg doses at all, but i tell them that if they really didn't then they wouldn't even do it. I need more opinions from more experienced opiate users with high tolerance, can you do little amounts and feel it/notice it? But obviously you would prefer it and be satisfied at higher doses.

If you're dependent on opiates (and I am, although not at higher amounts), there is a difference between "feeling it" and enjoying it. I used to get high off of 10mg of hydrocodone, now 10mg of hydrocodone will only prevent withdrawals (and not even completely). So yes, a smaller dose can be "felt" but it usually just leaves the user wanting a higher dose in the end anyway, because that smaller dose feels like a teaser.

Short answer, if your friend (or "friend") gets high off 140mg of oxycodone, I really doubt 5-10mg would be doing anything at all, maybe put a dent in withdrawal symptoms, but even that may not occur.

I've had friends say they feel low doses of oxycodone or hydrocodone meanwhile we all used to shoot 400 mg of morphine sulfate or heroin at once. I never felt anything from oxycodone or hydrocodone in the last years of using before I got on methadone - I would shoot 450 mg of morphine sulfate or massive doses of heroin. No amounts of hydrocodone or oxycodone would do anything for me.

There are people that are addicted to a certain behavior and they will repeat the behavior over and over even though it is producing bad results or no results at all. Like people who puff on unlit ciggarettes bc they were/are addicted to smoking. Catch my drift? I don't know how well I am explaining it.

Myself and many people who are physically dependent on opiates may not always have the resources to do a "full dose" so as previously stated, a smaller dose can be just enough to get through the day or night without fiending. I personally choose to take lower doses occasionally for health and tolerance reasons. To give myself a break, and also because I know if I am taking say 50 mg of hydrocodone at once, and I take just 25 on one day, that the next day that same 50 mg will absolutely feel better than the day before I took just 25. If I have something huge planned, I often will take a break the day before and cut doses, just to feel that "magic" that opiate users often don't feel after long periods of daily use. Hope this explains it some, this is definitely a good subject because people who are not physically dependent usually do not understand this at all!

Being a heroin addict, if there is any amount in front of me, I'm going to shoot it. I'm on suboxone currently and haven't done heroin in nearly a month, but I can guarantee the next time I pick up, I will take 2-3 big shots, get high, and then knock out the tiny little crumbles from the bags and put then in the cooker to rinse the cotton. 99% of the time I don't feel a thing, but I still do it just because there is product left, and I don't intend on wasting it.

Opiate addicts are a strange breed

When addicted to opiates you will find an addict will take any amount how ever small sort of life a physiological thing knowing that they need it to not go into withdrawals and every little would help in stopping those nasty side effects I know this from personal experience.

sometimes if you dont always have money to support your habit youll do whatever you can get your hands on. mostly because you dont want to get sick, if anyones tolerance is that high their strung out. they arent getting high, there just trying to avoid being sick.

I have a feeling you aren't physically dependent on opioids, because if you were you would know the answer to this. A person with an opioid addiction and dependence would not just turn down a small dose just because they won't get blasted.. Personally, I have a decently high tolerance to opiates, doing a good amount of heroin per day. now that doesn't mean if I only had 1 bag i just wouldn't do it because I wouldn't get high.. If one is in withdrawals, they are absolutely not going to turn down any amount of any opiate because even a small speck will ease the withdrawals, both physically, and psychologically..

mostly so they don't get sick. When I used to have a tolerance 40mg would get me high, but if i didn't have enough I would still take 2 Vicodin, not to get sick, even if it didn't do anything.
Obviously if i had a enough I would do more..

If it's there I'll do it, anything to avoid WD and stay out of pain. I'm on opana and Roxi.... I'd take a fucking shitty Vic 5/500 eventhough I know it won't stop opana WD....or do jackshit for my pain. An addict won't turn it down no matter how little it is...

Kind of like crackheads looking for more crack on the carpet when it's all gone or hitting an empty pipe for an hour. Different drug but similar concept.

If I wasn't sick and I had been taking the amount of oxy you suggested I probably wouldn't take a five milligram pill,..... for about five minutes, then I'd take it because I have no real discipline when it comes to full agonist opiates.

When I was on Heroin I'd buy vicodin anytime I came across it for those days when I was sick, once you are sick a small amount can help alot, of course the sicker the better as far as that goes.
