So here it is..
About twice a week I knock back a codeine cwe brew, my comfortable/yumyum dose is around 450-500mg codeine.

However, i've not had any codeine for at least 15 days now as I've been kinda experimenting with other things.

So i'm wondering.. How long does a tolerance sustain itself without any 'input' as it were, from the drug?
I mean, could I safely drink 500mg today in the same way as I could two weeks ago, or has enough time passed for my tolerance to have dropped significantly by now? I don't wanna waste a load of pills unnecessarily, but at the same time i don't wanna end up in A&E. Lol. Could someone please advise on the time-scale of opiate tolerances?

I'm sure it varies from person to person.

My experience shows that tolerance goes away very quickly, but also goes up back up quickly. I have been using tramadol since 2003 and sometimes I'll run out early and just by going 2 or 3 days without, I noticed tolerance drops dramatically. Granted, it goes back up within a few days of use.

Same with other opioids. I had gone 2 days without tram one time, was in severe withdrawal, and came across some hydrocodone. Took a higher dose than I should have and got pretty sick for a few hours. So, there is obviously some cross-tolerance between tram and other opioids.

^ That is my experience. If you are just using twice a week, I don't see tolerance being an issue. So, I'd just go with your regular dose.

Yea man a few days should do you fine for your tolerance. Addiction will usually begin as a psychological thing and will require you're own judgment to control so be careful. If you aren't experiencing any of the tell-tale signs of withdrawal during your break I wouldn't worry. 2 weeks is a long time man...

Back when I was doing oxycodone on an every few days basis (and sometimes for three days in a row), I found that 3 or 4 days would get me pretty close to my baseline tolerance so I'm hoping the same will apply to you.
