opiate tolerance over time

Does your opiate tolerance lower over time by not using???
I snorted my first OC a couple weeks ago and it totally rocked me.... 2 weeks later I snorted the same amount (20mg) and it was good but nothing compared to the first time.
If I stop using for a longer period of time will I be able to rail only 20 mg and get the same effects as the first time or is opiate tolerance permanent ?
 
The answer to your question doesn't seem to be very well documented, of course it will go down, but how long it takes is dependant on the individual. I've heard a month is a good wait, but I tend to go on binges. I personally have a high natural tolerance i believe. I went two months without any opiates and then I finally had some Oxy 40's and they Still weren't much for me... I was able to eat one and rail parts of another during the 1st day, and after that I was railing the whole 40's.
So the answer here would be, run some tests, use the search function, etc. It's different for everyne.

What hellfire said is true, but what you experienced is NOT tolerance. Tolerance takes time to build up. The fact is, everyone's first time on opiates is a unique experience. You'll never quite get that same feeling as the first time... like your first orgasm- it's close but never the same. Tolerance comes about with regular use...
When you take a certain drug for the first time- always pay close attention to the experience and enjoy it as much as possible- you'll never have that opportunity again- even though we all try...

Yup, nothing is as good as your first time. But I can almost guarantee you that the difference between your second and third experiences will not be nearly as large. So you only get the let down once really.
 
^^^ Not always... the first few times you do a drug, the experience changes, but not always for the worse.
With codeine/hydrocodone, my first couple experiences weren't very strong at all -- the high got a lot BETTER after a few tries. With heroin, though, my first high was the best by a significant amount.
 
I agree with Zorn 100%, I tried many times before I truely enjoyed Hydro/Oxycodone, but for me too - my first heroin expierience was by far the best Ive ever had.
 
thats what ive heard from many addicts and in my own experience (with h)...
we keep trying to recapture that first time...
and nothing ever comes close
so we keep using
i wish.
 
Heh, while it'd be nice to have an experience as good as the first time was, I'm not especially trying to recapture it... sweet Lady H is still fantastic.
