I want to know what my tolerance to opiates are. I have been 3 months clean and ill give a short backround. I have been using for 16 months, starting out at base doses of 15MG of hydro or oxy. Tolerance grew to about 50mg about a year ago, then started with H insulfated, then back to pills last fall, tolerance grew to about 80MG oxy. went back to H this winter and it went up a lot and started IV. I quit in the middle of april and havent done a thing since.
Now i have been physically addicted since last summer till when i quit. i stopped for 1 week in sept and my tolerance cut in half! but it went up quickly and the most i stopped for since then is a week, and it didnt go down too much since i guess i had been using regularly longer.
I have heard a lot of myths about tolerance going down to base. some told me it NEVER goes down to base, some told me it takes years, some told me it goes down in a few months once you have been hooked for some time. I know it goes back up quickly once you start again, but does anyone have some non bias information and/or experiences about quitting for a few months after having a high tolerance? at the last time i used, i was IVing 2-3 bags which, when insulfated, is about 30-40MG oxy quick release ingested. But IVing 2 was like sniffing 6 or 7. I would like to know if its ever possible for me to go down to 20MG or so of oxycodone. I was using on average of 5 times a week, spent a lot of time withdrawing, and a lot of time time only used a little bit as i could afford to keep the W/D away, so i want using every single day large amounts, multiple times a day.
Keep in mind I was addicted physically a little less than a year. I would really like some straight advice about what you think my tolerance is now after being completly clean for 3 months. dont give me an addiction lecture, as i dont even have access to opaties at the time being. THanks!

It'll take months for your tolerance to get back to baseline, or as close to baseline as it'll get.

IME, it'll be a noticeable drop after 3 months, and it'll be as low as it can get after 6 months to a year. That's just me though, ymmv. And yeah, you're right. It'll rise much higher than it has in the past. I'm not sure if that's due to permanent physical changes or just psychological ones -once you're experienced you tend to push the limits and use more...

tolerance never ever goes back down to baseline from my experience.. after a long break your tolerance will be lower but after a few days a week it will be right back to where it was..
