I am currently trying to find out more about ORT (Opiate Replacement Therapy) in Canada, and specifically, about how they use long acting morphine there. I've found very little information online except that it is legal and I am hoping someone can fill in some of these gaps in my knowledge about how doctors (presumably addiction medicine doctors) use morphine specifically in ORT in Canada.
For instance, is it administered daily (like methadone in the United States) or can it be prescribed from an office (like Suboxone in the US)? How common or rare is it and how accustomed are doctors to using morphine with addicts? Again, ANY information would be supremely helpful for me as I am totally ignorant on the subject and am extraordinarily interested in educating myself on this to the extent that it is possible.
Thanks again.
