Opioids Opiate Question

I have somewhat of an opiate tolerance. I normally snort oxycodone instant release 60mg doing 30mg as initial dose and re dosing 15 mg over the next hour-hour and a half. I have been reading that eating the pills has a higher BA and was thinking about possibly eating them tonight or eating half my dose snorting the other half. My only question is that if it does have a higher BA does that mean what may be a regular dose snorting could turn into an OD/uncomfortable dose when eating bc more OXY is absorbed. Or does it not matter as I am still ingesting the same amount of drug either way.

We'll you certainly are most likely not to OD on any dose near your regular one when dealing with pills, you're addicted to the ritual of snortin it too cause, let's face it, eating a pill and waiting for the high isn't as fun as crushing one up and snorting it. :/ just try eating your normal dose one night and try To keep yourself distracted til you feel it and judge from there

thanks for the input and definetly true about the ritual of crushing and snorting. I was thinking about eating my dose tonight but afraid I will feel as if I have wasted my drugs lol

As long as you're ingesting the same dose I doubt you need to worry about overdosing. And yes true, the bioavailability is greater when taken orally, but I personally was never able to actually take them that way. I would plan on it, but every time I ended up snorting it.

Just be conscientious and if in doubt always go with less. If you have any kind of a tolerance though, you should be fine continuing on with the same dosing pattern as before with intranasal use. Just keep in mind the effect will not be instantaneous as it is (more or less) when snorted. So don't over do it re-dosing until each dose subsequent to the first one kicks in.

Take them on an empty stomach like 4 hours from the last time you ate a meal

In any case, BA isn't everything. Cmax, and especially Tmax are what reall shape the experienceS

With that said, I would eat half, Snort the rest.

When I first started using oxycodone I insufflated the pills (OC's, 30mg pills etc) just because that's what everyone else was doing. Naivete let me to believe that this was the only way the substance would actually work (laughs). When I got my wisdom teeth out, I remember I was hurting pretty bad and didn't feel like doing anything, including taking the time to crush up a pill, so I tried taking them orally.

In my opinion, orally is way more advantageous for both analgesic and recreational use. The effects will take a little longer to kick in, but conversely, the effects will last longer. I would also feel much more of the buzz in my body as opposed to a more "heady" type of feeling that insufflation would bring.

Uhhhh, what? I trust your right since you're fucking Lorne but goddamn I thought it was like 70-90%, with intranasal being for SURE lower than that... Can you show me where you got that from?
