Is anyone familiar with any natural drugs that can be found at stores, such as, feel rite, that help with nuerotransmiter transitioning that have had serotonin and dopamine damage, from long time daily use?? I am really trying to live a clean life, and it is so hard to function with the depression and anxiety enduced by my heavy opiate use. I would appreciate it very very much if someone could help out because I think it is necessary for me right now, and I am not willing to take Anti-Depressants or Anxities. Opiate use has destroyed a lot of my life, and am trying to build it back, so any feedback helps and is appreciated. I send my blessings...1

I know this may sand a little canned- but do you exercise on a daily basis? Exercise has been proven to help with depression. I'm not sure about withdrawal associated depression but any time I've been in PAWS exercise has helped me immensely.

Thanks for the feedback.. And it's not that I feel very depressed on a daily basis, it's that my mind feels like it is never content, which makes me want to use really bad, but I cant use anymore. So I was just seeing if anyone knew about a natural anti-depressant that could help rebalance my brain while in sobriety. But yet, I am going to start working out anyday now, because I know that will help too.

^ Taking Vitamins and eating healthy foods (Lots of Fruits & Vegetables, potatoes, beats, onions, greens - spinach, etc.) will help quite well. Also get some Omega 3 Fish Oils, Vitamin B Complex, and take 5000IU's of Vitamin D per day (at least 5000IU's). Vitamin C as well, eat grapefruits, and oranges.

All of these will help if you combine all of this with exercise and increase your water intake ten fold this will all speed up your recovery a lot quicker. Try to get AT least 30min - 1 hr of Exercise per day to get your natural endorphins functioning again. Make sure you are getting enough sleep too.

You may want to look into taking an Anti-depressant for awhile as well. Perhaps Cipralex (Escitalopram) or Lexapro if you are in the US. The reason I mention Cipralex is because of its very high selective SSRI properties. Or Venlafaxine (Effexor) because its one of the only AD's out there that has interacts with opioid receptors (mu-, kappa1- kappa3- and delta-opioid receptor subtypes) but at a VERY low level.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

Ya my subutex dr said exercise is very beneficial to the recovery process because exercise makes the brain produce endorphins, feel good neurochemical that heroin/opiate dependencefucks with

While this may well be true- the effects of exercise on the brain are believed to be the result of the inhibition of the breakdown of a growth factor that is responsible for maintaining new synaptic connections. It goes beyond endorphins. People with depressed brains have fewer of these synaptic connections and exercise increases the population.

Daily physical exercise will almost certainly help your brain recover. Just try it for a week and report back here with the result.

THANK YOU SO MUCH SUPEUDOL...Looks like very helpful/beneficial advice that I will be integrating.. I have an appt. with a psychiatrist May 16th, and will report back after a week or so, with results of everything.

Also exercising your brain by reading or playing chess, filling out sudokus etc. will make your brain doing a new routes that signals will go through. That helped me with anxiety before.

i vote lyrica for any substance controls seizures from benzos, and has great anxiolytic properties to combat depression and anxiety from benzos and opiates...its pretty damn effective with aches
