Hi all i guess i will start by telling a little about my self. I am 28 years old 145 pound Landscaper so i am VERY active and i work about 50 hours a week. 4 years ago i broke a disc in my back and i was hooked again on and off. I have been doing opiates and smoking marijuana off and on for about 7 years. I had my first wake up call and hardcore withdrawal about 5 years ago. I quit cold turkey. I can take anywhere from 5 hydrocodone 10mgs all the way to 200mg of oxycodone. About a year ago i ran into fentanyl patches and every month or two i would buy ten of them and go through them in about ten days. Anyway recently i used the ten full patches 75 mcg and bought 90 vicodin 10mg. Well i have decided enough is enough. I went thru withdrawal hell last year and this time im done for good. I have 30 vicodin 10mg 325apap left and one 8mg suboxone strip. I have done suboxone many times. It is about $1000 to get enrolled in a suboxone clinic so unfortunately that is not an option. I have heard amazing things about Kratom to use only during the withdrawal period. Any taper plan or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and god bless everyone going through these struggles.

I have 28 10mg 325apap hydrocones and one 8mg suboxone to do a rapid taper. I know it is not ideal but this is what i have. Ive been taking about 10 75mcg fentanyl patches a month and i use them up in a couple weeks. My usage varies. It can be 12 vic ten mgs or 15 Percocet 10mgs. Sometimes much much more. Ive done whatever i can get my hands on really everything except heroin. I have never tried it.

Okay, I will do up a taper plan when I finish classes and work tonight for you. Youve got some useful pharms for your detox so as long as you're head is in the right place, you'll be fine. What non-pharmacutial support do you have IRL?

OP: Are you cold water extracting those because that is a lot of APAP.

Do you have someone that can hold onto your pills and dole them out to you as per the taper plan toothpastedog comes up with?

  • Day 1: Twenty-four hours after your last dose, start the taper (really this is a detox protocol, a taper isn't possible with the little you have to work with) by taking 100mg of hydrocodone.
  • Day 2: Take 4mg Suboxone on day two, waiting as long as possible before taking it. If you take it too spoon after the hydrocodone on day one, and you aren't already back in withdrawal again (which I think would start back up again fast given your habit and hydrocodone's weak potency compared to the fentanyl you were taking). Then take another 4mg of Suboxone 2-6hrs after the previous dose of Suboxone.
  • Day 3: Day three take 90mg of hydrocodone.
  • Day 4: take 60mg of hydrocodone.
  • Day 5: take 30mg of hydrocodone.

That should get you through the worst of the withdrawal the most effectively given what you have.

Isn't that a bit off to take the sub all in one day then go back to the Vicodin? Take the Vicodin as you please and when you run out take 2mg sub 24 hours after last dose. 24 hours after first sub dose take 2mg again, next day 1mg and same for another day. Day 5 take 0.5mg sub and repeat for day 6. Day 7 take as little as possible of what is left and for the following days until it is all gone and you should feel some discomfort for a few days but shouldn't be too hard

I suggested taking the Suboxone at the beginning of acute withdrawal because that is when the symptoms are usually the most intense. It would take too much Vicodin to deal with the worst of acute withdrawal, meaning he would run out of it faster.

All that said, the plan you suggest quite good. It doesnt matter which he chooses, they both would do the job.

damn i hope this guy didnt listen to you, thats the worst advice i've ever seen....considering the suboxone would have prevented the vicodin from working... this is the worst advice i have ever seen regarding coming off opiates, thats why i HAD to comment even though its almost 4 years ago lol
