I've been struggling with opiate addiction on and off for 10 years now. I was clean for only 60 days in the past 10 years, after those 60 days I started using heroin again but only sniffing it. Last week I decided to pick up needles and to IV this week. A big mistake, the withdrawls from heroin are more intense when I use it IV, Snorting Heroin is easier on me throughout the withdrawal period. Today I shot up 4 bags of Heroin out of the 10 that I bought. I did not heat it up and did it cold shot style. The heroin that I get is white and fluffy, It is extremely high grade. I did too much and woke up in the back seat of my van 30 minutes later, thak god that I woke up and did not Overdose again. when I came to I noticed that my ear felt like I must have passed out on it and it must have been bent over because it is till red and feels like I got punched in the ear because it is swollen. That is not the issue here, a few minutes later I noticed that the right side of my face, (My Cheek and eye, down to my jaw) is numb. I can not just blink my right eye without using my hand. I can close both of my eyes together but I feel that the right eye lid is not closing all the way and will not stay closed by itself. I can close my eye lid with my hand but I am having trouble keeping my eye lid closed without using my hand to keep it shut. Closing and opening my left eye is not a problem, my right eye lid is unable to close and open all the way unassisted. When I smile i feel that my cheek on the right side is numb, and it is numb to the touch. What did I do to myself. I was unconscious for about 30 minutes and I think that my ear will eventually stop hurting and might get sensation back and the swelling will go away. A year ago I shot up all night and the next morning my entire right arm was numb and my hand did not work. I was unable to open and close my hand or grab a glass or pick up anything with weight to it and use my hand for about 6 month, then one week the nerve that I damaged must have decided to wake up and eventually it was back to normal. I am wondering if this might be the same issue with my face now. Will the sensation come back in my cheek and the eye lid? will I be able to close my eye lid normally, and will I ever be able to just close my right eye and only through my left eye while I close my right eye lid, without using my hand to close it.? I know that it was not smart to pick up Heroin again. and I know that I am lucky I did not overdose again. I know that I am Luck to be alive and I have already contacted my rehab couseler about help with overcoming opiates again. I would like to learn any information and what I can do about the situation regarding the numbness on the right side of my face. what is this symptom called, what can I do if anything to help expedite that recovery from this. Thanks you in advance
