Opioids Opiate Addicts and Pain Control in the ER or hospital? What do/have you done?

I've been an opiate addict for the past 4+ years. Started with the one norco, and quickly progressed to half gram of dope a day. Recently, on the back two years of my addiction, I tore my Achilles tendon by having a 10 pound piece of sheet metal slice the back of my heel like a guillotine. Excruciating pain, but at the time of the injury the pain was manageable because I didn't go into the ER right away, and was able to dose whatever I wanted. 6 months later after the tendon heeled miserably, I went in for the first surgery. It was a simple lengthening of the tendon where they cut a "Z" shape and pull the tendon. I knew going into the surgery that there was no way at 20 years old, and considerably healthy, that I was going to get a dose of anything in the OR that would compare to my daily habit. I took the liberty of medicating myself before the surgery. I was surprised that everything went smoothly and wasn't in much pain sitting after the surgery. The true pain came after I left and was RX'd a measly script of 7.5's norcos, and since I was being cared for 24/7 it was hard to get what I truly needed.

Now the second surgery was a different ball game. My tendon didn't heal right from the first surgery and I was back in the OR for my second surgery in 11 months. Now at this point there was good documentation that I was on pain meds for those whole 11 months, but that didn't seem to matter. This surgery was a bit more complicated where they actually had to take the tendon from my big toe and move it to the back of my heel. I was under for at least 3 hours. Now since I knew there was legal documentation of the drugs I had been taking I felt I would have been treated a little better, even though the dosages were nothing massive, and I was still doing my own thing on the side. I think the problem stemmed from me being in the hospital longer than I was the first time. I was there for a total of 15+ hours, so I miscalculated what I was going to need to get by. I only got two shots of morphine, don't know the exact dosage but I can guarantee it was the lowest possible. Now this stint was miserable and there was nothing I could do because all they would say is I can't give you anymore at this moment. It was ridiculous. I definitely wish I would've snuck some of my own shit in there.

I learned the hard way when I got hospitalized for a week for seizures. They gave me my regularly scripted stuff, but of course, I had been insufflating my Oxymorphone. Couldn't admit to that, folks :D! So I had to hide the fact that I was detoxing from the nurses. Tough stuff. Now, I carry prefilled "items" with me at all times, disguised as normal objects (lucky I'm a girl, I have a purse). I' m not gonna get caught dead, hopefully not literally, without a way to help myself. I recently have cut my usage in half, and am trying to quit the OxyM altogether. Probably in part due to situations like this. Between having a seizure disorder and cardiac problems, I never know when or where I' m gonna go down. My heart goes out to those who are trapped in a situation where they' re in pain, and have little to no analgesia. A bit of preparation can go a long way, though. Unless you get arrested. Then you're SOL.

I have a stupid high tolerance with OXY. What i recently learned was that even though it takes a load of oxy to get buzzed, it doesnt take loads of pain killers to get relief from pain.
