Opening Meditation
"...meditate on the tangle our desires have created."
Flow,
pour yourself into
the flow
and then
rest
with the flow.
Through
your room
windows
you
are seeking
those who awaken
in the future,
silent roads
from the past,
the deafness
of lovers,
the rain.
One piece
of water
a mirror
balancing
these pushing colours
of life.
You do
not see
the shattered
flowers,
nor the exits,
those who left.
Your eyes
follow
the jewels
inside
and outside
of sight.
You grasp
a cold key
and with it
a darkened
plan
for change:
to flow,
pour yourself into
the flow
and then
rest
with the flow.

Thanks vurt!
As a matter of fact, in an unprecedented step, I read this aloud to some of my family at Christmas. My grandmother gave me a standing ovation! :o
Which would be great, except she's more or less deaf! :D
Of all my current pieces, this is the one I'm probably the most pleased with.
Thanks for the support,
Wordy. ;)

Ok, you're officially added the list of people who's writing I admire. You have knack for subtle imagery that just flows and gets into the subconcious. Thanks!

i practice qi gong - it is a chinese practice that is thousands of years old and is kind of like a blend of tai chi, yoga and meditation. also, in it's purest form, it is a marital art. ANYWAY, one of the underlying currents of qi gong is to always "travel" from stillness to movement to stillness to movement etc. i think your poem really captures this essence or element of the form of meditation i choose to practice.... it is a very subtle but essential part of meditation and you have managed to convey it thru your words......
one of my favourite reads in a long while,
bk :)
