open eye visuals on weed

i dont understand this
im told that weed alone does not cause any sort of open eyed visuals at all
but everytime i smoke, i get minor open eyed visuals of patterns and such
like a mesh on top of things with vibrant colors and such
i thought this was odd at first, ive smoked many kinds of weed from many diffrent sources and usually get this effect
people keep telling me that isnt possible, but how cant it be if it always happens to me?
is it just the way my body reacts to it? or what?
