Since I was comfortable
Comfortable with being alone
Comfortable without being needy
Without needing you or him or someone
And now my freedom is worn
Like the sayings I’ve grown to love

When I realized what we did
Wasn’t about us, it was about me and you
I saw that it didn’t matter
And how meaningless it all was
You only wanted me to stay
So that we could lay there
And we did

Naked, naked for so long
Told you all my secrets and you told me yours
Cos we’ve done this at least a hundred times
By now you must know what allows me to breathe
And I can’t count each moment that you came
But I can count each moment that you told me
Something you never thought you could tell
And that’s what it makes it all ok

Somehow I know this will end someway
I don’t think I’ll hurt when you find someone
And I don’t think you will either
When I find a person who is me, but not
Not you or him or all the lies before
And she’ll be the girl that
Doesn’t want to just have fun
Cos I know we aren’t meant
So for now, I’ll just take you
Take you naked and in your truth

Cos it’s the only time you feel
