if i wasn't so empty myself
maybe i could fill you
with some unknown joy
something to make it
okay
some sense of well being
a calm in this madness
shelter from the dark
you are still my light
and i am still sadness
personified
and thrust out into
a world unknowing
naked and open
wishing only that
someday you will love me
for the silly things i do
my love of cream sodas
and gummy worms
dyed red hair and
shaky hands
chainsmoking to fill some
void
and
giggling coz there isn't anything
else i could possibly say to you
someday you will see
that these things
make me human
these emotions
aren't the result of
some psychosis
but rather a realization
or an acceptance
of an emotion
i am only human
and i am only alone
because you refuse to
admit
the same.
