I doubt this has been covered before, but have no fear I searched anyways.

whenever I am doing opiates, not matter the amount, I can only catch a real buzz if I am sitting up. I understand that while I am standing or moving I will not be focusing on my high and could possibly miss it, but I can do a large dose of oc while laying in bed and it will have no effect, or a minimal one at best. I only catch a serious buzz if I am sitting up. I can even be sitting at my computer and nodding so hard I keep hitting my face on my desk, and the moment I move to the bed and lay down it is greatly reduced, even if I redose in bed. anyone else have this happen to them?

I'm not really concerned about finding a cause or anything, but if anyone has an idea of why that would be cool too.

An interesting topic. I think primarily it's just your perception of how high you are. Focusing on tasks (getting lost in it) can greatly reduce any high (though this can make it more apparent as well if you struggle with something normally simple) and lying down or resting puts you in a position or state where you are often relaxed and dreaming so it doesn't seem as different. Perhaps sitting up is the perfect combination for you, nothing to focus on but the high yet not thinking about sleep.

yeah thats what I assumed would happen, I really only noticed it lately. but I get fucked up and figure Ill lay in my soft, comfy bed and really enjoy it, and it just reduces greatly. real bummer cause I bet nidding in bed would be awesome, but it just reduces it greatly. I almost never nod in bed.

Laying down generally just makes me fall asleep.... I don't really feel any type of high, just an extreme tiredness in a negative way.

i prefer sitting up while being high also (well half sitting up), my couch is shaped like an "L" and the spot on the couch thats mine (im actually sitting in it now) is the little part of the L that sticks out, so i can lay my legs flat but be sitting up against the back of the couch keeping me sitting up.. i donno if i explained that very well but i tried.

EDIT: and like the poster above said, it is easier to fall asleep lying down and if you sleep through your high it's basically wasted (unless your just nodding really hard and your body thinks you're sleeping, but even that would suck cuz you wouldn't remember it.)

thats weird cause im on methadone 130mg a day and I don't really feel anything besides for like 10 minutes when it first kicks in but when I lay down in bed I can kinda feel a small opiate feeling
