its one thing to be a drug addict but its quite another to IV.
Exactly. IVing takes it to a whole 'nother level.

its not a stereotype that IV users have higher rates of hiv/hep c, its based upon statistics. the point is that IV is as much of a red flag as "we want bareback" is on gaydar. the moment i see that shit i think statistically and say to myself- too risky. even people who put up that safer sex "needs discussion" i view as "i sometimes bareback, oops". discussion is meaningless as someone could have had a chat with someone else, barebacked, lies were told and now they have hiv and dont know it and are willing to tell you that they dont have hiv as far as they know. its bullshit
the reality is that what someone puts up on the net is only the tip of the iceberg with regards to their behaviour and its a complex game of trying to read between the lines, which annoyingly you don't have to in real life as you can ask a question and gauge a reaction.
Right, because IV users are typically the most honest, loyal and disease-free folk. There is no point in someone who is not a junkie to get involved with someone like that. I don't care how charming they appear to be. On the inside and in reality, they are one step from rehab or death, and I guarantee you that a needle user cares more about the drug than anything else in their lives. No reason to pull yourself down into their rut.
Good for you for escaping that mentality, but I would bet my house that when you were IVing and using, you were indeed the stereotype.
