One more mass killer, one more drug-addled mind

Yes, the roids made him rage consistently for months, stewing over texts and plotting with his super-cracker cronies on the interbutts. Damn steroids! Who knew roid rage could be so methodical and articulate?

Roid rage seems to more resemble say paranoid or even disorganized schizophrenia. This guy was methodical and obviously a white supremacist nut job.

ive met one guy who definitely had roid rage. i have also met steroid users who arent rage filled. but roid rage does exist and can cause what paranoid android said, schizo type behaviour. ive seen it in a good friend of mine. im pretty sure steroids made him how he is in fact. luckily he's quit them since then and seen the light with the help of acid :)

anyway...why are y'all talking about this norwegian nut job? I don't see any discussion here, it's all conjecture anyway!

everything that happened points to a coordinated effort. As for the Norweigian media being apt to lie alot. It is all over the internet. I knew about it before this guy supposedly carried out all these attacks alone..The info is out there. Like for example, they never report any suicides. And if someone in the public eye committed suicide, they mask it or say he died of "other " causes. I've seen countless Norwies talk about this stuff and on IRC as well.

All media outlets are grimey but they are pretty bad....

It's weird, because the Scandinavian countries (and Finland!) are often portrayed as the forefront of civilised society…where everything is perfect and nobody is ever nasty to each other…

the guy was just using stanozolol ('Winstrol'), if that's all he was taking that's barely even being on steroids..
/roid rage is media scare-mongering BS
//if anything it'd be the ephedrine, but trying to assign it as a factor is absurd. drug-induced fits are not planned out, this was. end of story.

First sentence should read, "It's the fundamentalists, and their hatred/misunderstanding of other cultures, stupid."

^^^^I can't really even see ephedrine creating aggression. At least, that's my experience after probably taking a kilo of it over the years.

Out of stimulant-type drugs, the only thing I've taken that has actually created aggression is bupropion. I imagine varenicline is worse.

Alcohol can create aggression--much more so than anabolic steroids.

I don't get aggressive on alcohol. Quite the opposite usually.

I agree though that most drugs don't "create" aggression. But they can bring it out and aggravate it. Give the wrong person a bunch of steroids, amps or booze, and they might go berzerk, given the right [wrong?] time and place. Of course, they are to blame, and not the substances. But roid rage is definitely real -- by roid rage I simply mean people who feel much more powerful and egotistic because of an imbalance of hormones caused by using steroids improperly over a long time period.

^but roid rage is an acute condition, not a chronic condition. Indeed, the author of this unfortunate article seems to treat it as a chronic condition as well.
