There was once a beautiful girl who loved to look out the window. Every day she would stare out at the world and long to be out there in it. But every time she would gather the courage to go outside, her fear of rainstorms would overtake her. You see, the girl was afraid of the rain because she didn’t understand what it was.
One day, when the girl had mustered the nerve to venture outside, she ignored her growing fear as she stepped out into the sunlight. The girl had the chance to experience what outdoors felt like and she loved it! She felt the grass beneath her feet, and the breeze on her skin. She smelled flowers, and saw squirrels and birds. From then on the girl would go outside any time the sun was shining to experience all of these wonderful things.
While exploring in some nearby woods one day the girl became lost. At first the girl was unconcerned; there were no clouds in the sky, and she knew the woods weren't endless, and that she would reach their edge, or come across something familiar at some point. The girl continued to enjoy her day as she discovered new rocks and flowers, and played in the brook. She became so engrossed in the things she was experiencing that she didn’t notice the clouds forming so high above the tree tops, or the cool breeze that tickled the leaves. When it started to drizzle the girl was still unaware of her current situation because of the canopy the trees provided. When at last the rain began to pour fast and hard the girl was in a terror. She was lost and there was no shelter about whatsoever.
The girl ran until she came to a hollow tree trunk. She crouched inside and cried and cried, promising that she would never again return outdoors if only she could go back to her safe haven of the window. But when the rain stopped the girl realized that she was unhurt. She was a little bit wet, and yes quite a bit cold, but all in all there was no harm done. Once she came to this realization the girl looked around. She wasn’t lost anymore! She knew her way home from the hollow tree trunk and thus proceeded to leave the woods.
When she came to the field that separated her house from the woods, the girl looked at the sky with amazement. Before her very eyes was a beautiful rainbow. One that was perfect in every way, large, curved and full of vibrant colors. This had to be a miracle, the girl thought. At that moment the girl heard a voice, possibly her own inner voice, say to her “The very thing you were so afraid of left behind this miraculous beauty.”
The girl was astounded, and then jubilant. She was no longer afraid of the rain. Instead she anticipated the time the rain would come, and when it did, she went outside and stood in it. She appreciated the sweet smell of the freshly wettened ground and the brightness of the flowers during and after the rain. The girl also waited for the time the rain would stop, so that she could see again the brilliant rainbow.
Now the girl was able to enjoy the sunshine for the sun and storms for the rain. She understood that every living thing needed both the sun and the rain to live. The girl now loved every bit of nature and never again would you see her indoors sitting by the window watching life pass her by.

Dang, I hate typos, especially when I don't catch them. I think this is better.
I would really like some feedback on this, even constructive critisism would be absolutely fabulous. Thanks...
