The "me" is the emotional self -- self referent. "Self-nature". Sad about sadness. Happy to be happy. Depressed about being depressed. Avoidant of avoidance. Protective of its safety. Suffers over suffering. Defensive about what it defends. Desirous of desire. Afraid of fear.

It is not rational. Take a close look at what's going on in society and the world.

It can only be transcended. For that, it has to be "I/me first, then later we'll talk to you" instead of "I (talk to) you and you (talk to) me.

The you drops off the end and vanishes. The me is absorbed. The I then has no external or internal referent, and nothing further can be said.

All this is only "in a manner of speaking", meant to be suggestive, sorta. To transcend self, the "you" stuck in the middle with (??who's that??) is let go.

Others are literally dropped and forgotten (for a time).

One is then alone and without help, unprotected, unacknowledged and unprepared in the face of the unknown. And no one ever chooses that, because it is a death.

Not sure why I started this thread. I enormously enjoy writing on this topic, for some reason, and am interested in seeing what (if?) people think of all of it. Thinking is kinda my hobby, and has moved to bottom of the list as a prime mover in life.

Peace...
