Has anyone had a terrible, awful, vomitous sex dream?

Recently I had one about MY MOTHER (yes holy fuck). Bit of background - my mother is these days an ordained member of a mainstream religious order. The act, *shudder* which I have no vivid recollection of (thank christ), occurred in some pastiche New York style loft apartment. What I do remember is that after the event my mother - MY MOTHER!! - ended up chasing me around the apartment, saying things to me that she'd never never say like "I've been waiting a long time for that' (but ruder) and 'When can we do it again?' with me reduced to answering no fuck off go away leave me alone!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO How can I ever look at her again?

OK most of you are probably thinking there's some kind of fucked up thing from childhood going on, but you'd be mistaken. Pretty normal childhood. Definitely no funny business from my mum or anyone else. Furthermore, I have a great and perfectly functional relationship with my mother. Oedipus - who's that?

This is totally my brain's fault. Why, brain, why?!?!

I think I'd mentioned this in some other thread not long ago, but sex dreams about family members are actually much more common than you'd expect...and not something to worry about at all. I had one about my brother a couple years ago, woke up with the exact same reaction as you - completely disgusted, confused, ew-wtf-i'm-not-attracted-to-him-he's-my-brother-for-fuck's-sake - spoke to my therapist about it and she said it didn't in any way mean I was attracted to him or actually wanted to have sex with him, both consciously and subconsciously. I also spoke to a few of my very close friends about it, and it turns out one of them had had a sex dream with his dad recently....he's obviously not attracted to his dad.
So yeah, it's very very disturbing and certainly makes you jump to the conclusion that something must be very wrong with you, but it's not. Don't worry. Just remember that most people will actually have at least one sex dream about a family member at some point in their life, whether they admit it or not. Try to remember that and chill out :)

^Pagey pretty much summed it up.

I've had, not quite sex dreams but not quite platonic dreams about a family member and it is bery mentally disturbing. Just remember it's normal and try to forget about it.

Been there done that, except I remember plowing my mothers ridiculously sized afro. I couldn't look at her in the eye for weeks after that.
