I recently bought a couple of boxes of Olmifon (adrafinil) which is supposed to be a psychostimulant / smart drug.

Have anyone here tried it? Comments?

(The "new" version of adrafinil (modafinil, Modiodal) is available here in sweden by prescription for narcolepsy, and is scheduled CIV.)

I found some info on www.adrafinil.com but it might just be for marketing purposes.

You know, I and most of my friends found it worthless. It didn't even keep me AWAKE! It made me feel generally yucky too. However, I'll also inform you that I've used a fair deal of amphetamines, so I think it's likely that more 'subtle' stimulants don't do all that much to me in comparison.

ONE of my friends, however, LOVED the stuff. He still didn't find it recreational, but it gave him alot of energy and helped him get his work down, without any crash or any noticeable side effects. He also found that it worked even better for him after taking it for a few days.

He's since then tried modafinil and he likes that stuff even more (he snorted some which he found euphoric, but then he snorted too much and masturbated for hours till he was sore). I'll warn you though that this friend of mine is the type who always thinks snorting things gets him higher and is very easily gotten high by the placebo effect -- and he had been hyping up modafinil and adrafinil for ages before he tried them.

But yeah....bottom line: no recreational value, but might be useful for you in terms of productivity.

I was prescribed modafinil (provigil in the US) as a non-stimulant alternative to ritalin for treating my intermittent narcolepsy symptoms. They're supposed to be giving it to Air Force pilots to keep them alert, (all the speed they used to take was causing some serious lapses in judgement when it came to firing missles and dropping bombs) and I hope it works better for them than it does for me. Like Negro-kitty all the stimulants I have used in the past might make the non-recreational effects of this med even harder to notice. Modafinil does next to nothing for me.

I have not tried snorting it yet, and thanks Negro-kitty for making that dubious enterprise sound at least worth the effort. In fact I wasn't going to get my script re fillled at all, but I think I'm going to be needing it for some research purposes. I will report if anything happens. Anything at all.
