ok SERIOUS help. Lump and rash

OK. I had a needle that was a little old but used only a couple times anyway I stuck it in a different vein then what I was using. It was bad took it out and it kinda hurt)I did NOT plunge at all)

I found a good spot and afterwards I looked down and had a big hard lump where I stuck the needle. It now broke out in a rash after sticking a hotpad on it for an hour. the rash wasnt there till I started rubbing my arm (massaging it). Im scared and am usually one to say go to er but a friend says shes got a bunch and itll go away. It doesnt Hurt real real bad but Im also high. Advice anyone? the swelling did go down slightly.
 
I think you will be fine. Is the rash still there [or was it your typical 1/2 hour rash]? Take some antihistamines if you feel like it.

Im freaking out and cannot even sleep and I have to leave to go to a clinic or am supposed to here in a few hours. Im going to post a picture. I just hit something when I stuck the needle in my arm and it caused a hard inflam. lump thing.

it barely hurts like I said I think I just hit something. the red lump is what im refering to im not quite sure what the bruise is next to it I think the same thing. im done fucking with needles for good.
 
Yeah sometimes it is pretty easy to get nervous when something like that happens. I would take a antihistamine and just try to relax if the bump grows overnight maybe than consult a doctor. Doesn't look too bad though. I know some of that Chicago dope used to sometimes provoke a 30 min rash upon injection but that is rare. The only time I ever had issues was when the site was VERY sore, no lump so I left it till morning and I woke up with a golf ball sized welt [abscess] and it hurt my fingertips if they were touched, intense pain.

I had to go score dope before going to the ER because it was not going to be a fun situation, it sucked basically.

I get a small rash everytime but this is the first time This inflammation has happened. im so over heroin/drugs right now because of this I dont even think I need to go to this methadone apt but I guess I will anyway. Im still half ass high though and am sure I could make it through the day with some darvocet if anything weird happens or tram. and go to a doctor about this to make sure its not infected and im clean. fuck I dont know. this happen ed awhile ago the y vein where you bend your arm I stuck an overused needle in it and pulled out (again didnt plunge because if I feel pain its prolly best to take out) and the shit fuckin hurt so bad and bruised up
 
in the spirit of harm reduction, you should go get it checked out by a doctor to be sure. there are big consequences to a properly missed shot - some of which have been documented here on TDS and OD.

that being said, ive had worse track than that which have turned out alright, it really depends where you shoot, what you shoot and if you miss the vein or not.
 
now you got my scared should i apply a heating pad and sleep wake up and go to a doctor in the morning or go somehwere asap right now?!
 
Chill out man thats nothing, well you should never say never but i can tell from that pic that you have nothing to worry about..
 
Your going to be fine bananas, I have seen worse take a week to go back down, but it did... best advice is to just sleep on it, enjoy your high, and it might be a little tender in the morning but as long as it is a bit better in the morn you are sweet
 
I've seen guys with several lumps like that on their arms. They receded and no harm done. If it was harmful, you'd be noticing a lot of other effects.

Just a lesson in not to reuse needles. I get mine for about 13 pounds for a 100 pins and barrels from medical suppliers online, so you've no excuse for not having clean equipment :\
 
Don't reuse needles and make sure your actually in a vein before you inject. The rash i wouldnt be too worried about really in fact i found out the hard way one of the fillers in some morphine pills (yes it's fucking retarded shooting those things) didnt agree with me when i got a big nasty rash with hives. Oh did i ever freak the first time that happened 8o . Oddly enough after enough shots i got used to whatever was doing it.

The lump looks like a flat out missed shot and as we all know they can lead to bad things. I would say wait abit and see if it goes down all the same but if it ain't gone down soon get thy ass to the ER pronto. Ive never had a abcess (how the fuck this miracle has gone on is beyond me) but ive seen enough to know they are not fun. Especially if you leave it and it fills up with pus. Now that is nasty and very fucking dangerous.
 
I've done that before and it should go away soon. Don't get too worked up over it (I freaked out too). I wouldn't bother with it unless it sticks around or ends up like my foot did one time:

I'm still not sure what I did, probably miss a vein and it got infected or something. I was unable to walk without crutches for at least a week and it hurt so badly that I couldn't even touch it. Even then it went away after a while. If it sticks around for a while I would see a doctor who will probably drain it.
 
im going to a doctor today anyway. I dont care its gross looking and I have a job and I dont want this to be seen for more than a day. Im pretty much done with drugs but weed. this shits getting old and stupid.

yea that's normal if you miss. Kinda big, but I've seen a lot worse on my girlfriend's arm. If it starts to puss up it's going to leave a pretty nasty mark but if you apply pressure and run it under warm water (some say cold) then it should help the swelling. It will take a little while for it to fully go away..
 
hey OP, sorry im just curious but when u say ur done with dope how exactly do u plan on doin it if u dont go to the methadone appt? do u hav a bad addiction or r u in the begining stages where u can tough it out? i just wanna know cuz i really do believe u when u say ur done shooting dope but its easier said then done.
