ok my past post about percodan was incorrect. they are placidyls. i just remembered the name. so my old question still stands. has anyone taken these? rxlist gave the classification but no other info.

Placidyl is a non-barbituate non-benzodiazepine sedative-hypnotic if I remember correctly. Other than that I don't know anything at all about it. Eat one or two and tell us all about it.

Are they pretty old? I didn't know that they still prescribed these...I had the pleasure of trying dexamyl and seconal a while back, but they were remnants from another decade. Still good though!

If I recall correctly, it was back in 1998/1999 these were discontinued .. I know for a fact that "Placidyl" (the brand) was discontinued (it was made by Abbott) but I am not certin what happened in regards to the legitimacy of the drug itself .. I tried it once and didn't care for it in the least!

Back in the early 70s I did placydl's a couple times a week. Have you ever heard of "REDS"? The reds were 500mg and the greens were 750. Some powerful shit! Made qualudes look like aspirin. peace

It did a great job of knocking you out, but I don't think it offered as great a "floaty" and "sedated" effect as other drugs .. while it's a non-barbituate in terms of it's chemical relation, for all intents and purposes thats what it is - I always cared for some of the other barbs a lot more ..
