Obama's Demented Drug Policy

=p

"The war" (which no one here has mentioned)
He is EXPANDING war. FFS you Obama people are dumb.

Um, he is doing exactly what he campaigned for - withdrawal timetable in Iraq, increased military action in Afghanistan. The only dumb people are those who thought he stood on an anti war platform and voted accordingly. I don't like the idea of expanding a conflict but I knew damn well when I decided to support him that it was part of his platform. So, please, do not call me dumb for supporting him because you think that he should be an anti war absolutist.

I bet some of the people that voted for him are regretting that decision now...and not just from the "war on drugs" farce....

He lied. Simple as that.

America is headed in a very bad direction, we are fast becoming totalitarian governed and personal FREEDOMS are being taken away at an alarming rate.

I think I need to leave this country, maybe Canada would be good.

I want off this planet.

Beam us up, Scotty. There's no common sense (or intelligent life) in politics, and it's killing us!

I can't believe I wasted a vote. Last time I ignore my gut instinct when it comes to voting.

Obama should totally do his next address from the Oval Office, and light a joint. Then maybe, just MAYBE, I might have some respect for him.

Oh, the hypocrisy!:X

Obama said he was going to IMMEDIATELY pull troops out of Iraq and the Middle East. Now, it's supposedly on a 23 month plan to get troops out of Iraq and he actually sent 30,000 more troops in to Afghanistan!

Obama said he was shutting down Guantanamo Bay. Problem being, he left a provision in there where the military could take any of the prisoners they wanted to other countries and torture them there.

He said he was against NAFTA and he promised factory workers he would help them out by shutting that shit down. Whoops! That was all hot air, too.

The scariest part about Obama's plans that I didn't even know about until recently? He's working to set it up where everyone from the ages of 18-25 is FORCED to undergo "civilian defense training" for three months. He's also setting up a million man civilian defense force to help police America. If that doesn't sound like the Hitler Youth I don't know what does.

Seriously folks, shit is going to hit the fan and right soon. Of course Obama is going to laugh off marijuana legalization. He's got more important stuff to worry about, like socializing America and installing the totalitarian police state.

Just flat out amazing how fucking dumb all these sheeple are that voted for him and were crying and calling him the Messiah when he got elected. That scumbag didn't even bother waiting around a few months before he started going back on everything he promised.

It's not a Democrat or Republican thing either, folks. Both sides of the same corrupt coin that keep the people stirred up and foaming at the mouth over red vs. blue, elephant vs. donkey, etc. and so forth while both groups actively work to take away every single freedom and piece of power we the people have.

^^^ LOL well I was just about to make a comment about you landing yourself on some kind of govenment watchlist for saying that, buuuuut then I noticed your from the fucking piperazine mecca of New Zealand and not Obamaland (Bushland phase 3?)... They use crack as an adheasive on the back of stamps n post-it notes there, don't they?

=p hehe

Im not getting how he lied...they man hasnt even been in office 6 months how much is he supposed to do..shit Bush had 8 years to fuck shit up. shit dont happen over night. its a system all this crap has to go through are is every one forgetting that due to Obama being who he is?

I honestly believe that Obama would legalize drugs...if it were up to him. Unfortunately, it's not. He's just serving the interests of the people who put him in office, knowing that if he steps out of line and goes against tradition, it's lights out. (By "lights out" I mean one of two things, or both: he would have his reputation ruined and his name slandered in Washington and in the media, or he'd oh-so-mysteriously turn up dead, victim of an assassination like JFK, who was the last US president to follow his conscious and go against the status quo.) Obama's a smart man who HAS TO understand the evils of the drug war, but he's also a politician. Politics is a game, and it's better to piss off the people in the stands, who can be easily manipulated by media saturation and propaganda, than to piss off your coach and teammates, who are the creators of the propaganda.

It's not so much Obama that's the problem (though he too must be held accountable), but the SYSTEM we currently have in politics that is set up to serve a small group of elite, money-hungry bankers, Wallstreet tycoons, and the "big" industries--big oil, big pharma, etc. instead of the People. That's why we will have to vote in someone who's interested in changing the system itself and doing what's right based on the Constitution, like (dare I say) Ron Paul, though he's not the only one who could do it.

We'll never see real "Change" until we stop allowing ourselves to get swept up in the Republican vs. Democrat, right vs. left, and "my candidate" vs. "your candidate" hype during election season, because it's all bullshit. They say what they need to say to get into office, then go back on every word of it. They portray their parties as representing two different sets of ideals, when in reality they both work for the same boss, taking turns controlling the Whitehouse so the majority of Americans get their 8 years to feel satisfied and to feel like their vote actually counted. If you don't believe me, just look at the pattern over the last 25 years--2 terms Republican (Reagan/Bush), followed by 2 terms Democrat (Clinton/Clinton), followed by 2 more terms of Republican (Bush/Bush), and now, magically, we have a Democrat in office. If you don't see something horribly, disgustingly wrong with that pattern, you're not paying attention.

Agreed.

Perhaps Obama shrugged off the legalization question too easily, but he didn't lie. He never said he was for legalization. If he is in favor of legalizing it, he's not going to say it out loud at this point in time. I think there's just too much other stuff going on right now.

What he did say, is that he's not going to argue with the medical community if they say that cannabis has medicinal value. He's a practical guy. He's already decriminalized marijuana. One of the first things he did in office was to order the DEA to stop raiding dispensaries in California.

My state just legalized medical MJ. It's kind of surreal, in a way. Just like that, I now can legally grow a couple plants as long as I can show that it's for someone with a "marijuana card."
