Numb arms and hands after IV drug usage

Hello all,
Every morning I have been waking up with numb arms from where my elbow is at down through my hands.

I was using needles every day for about 9 months solid. Now that I have changed my ways and got put on suboxone through the doctor I have had this problem every morning. What is it? Does anyone know what it could be? Will it get better?

I know I need to go to the doctor, but I am waiting to see if this resolves itself on its own. It seems to be getting a little worse the past couple of mornings. There is more pain that shoots down my arm through my wrist in to my hand. I hope I didn't damage nerves for good, if that is what is wrong.

I have never had this problem before until about a month ago. I quit IVing opiates about two weeks ago. I sleep just the same every night. I sleep on my side. I could see how the blood circulation could be cut off, but I think it is from using drugs in my arm without proper knowledge of where my nerves are and stuff.

Please help me. Does anyone have a possible input? Has anyone ever had the same problem? If so, did it go away? I am trying to get answers online before I spend the money to go to the doctor without insurance.

Gonna move this from the Wiki to Basic Drug Discussion; BDD mods feel free to move back if this doesn't work out, aye? :)

Did this just start since you quit injecting? It could be a number of things. I sleep on my side sometimes and my hand goes numb from it being under my pillow. Try sleeping on your back and see if that helps. If it's persistent, speak to your doctor. Welcome to Bluelight!

yeah before i could really give you direct input, i have a couple questions. you mntioned you stopped IV'ing, and if i understood right, this started AFTER you quit?? is that correct? if so, how long after your last time IV'ing? and what drugs were you using. my first guess would be you hit a nerve, but its weird it didnt show up right after you IV'ed, and it waited until after you'd already quit. but that is still possible. you couldve hit it and it just took a while to show any effects.

my advice would be if it starts to get better at all, id wait it out and see if it fixes itself all on its own. but you mentioned its getting worse, if thats the case you mgiht wanna go and get it checked ASAP. im no doctor but i'd be afraid of possible permanent damage, if not losing functions in the arms completely..

I am going to say that you should get ready and go to the doctor. If this is going on for any length of time and you think it is getting worse then it is time to go. I don't know what the cause of this is, but I would rather be safe than sorry! Just bite the bullet and go!

It is very important where you inject and how... there's an amazing guide I am looking for,,, will post link ..
