Now drug smugglers turn to submarines

The southern side of the country isn't the only one that's seen sub activity. While likely small in volume, I've heard some rather humorous stories of sub runs gone wrong up here in the rainy lands. Ironically, there's several major navy submarine bases up here, which has caused some white-hair-inducing panic moments for cowboys less than meticulous about their pre-trip research. You do not want to go toe-to-toe with a nuclear attack sub in a little recreational subbie crammed with green cargo. . . 8o

The problem with dragging underwater loads behind a boat is that it slows the boat down - alot. Sloooooow. And the boat sits funny in the water while underway - it's fairly obvious to an experienced observer that there's something being towed. Anyway, that's what I've been told by folks who used to be in that side of the business. . . I don't know a damned thing about boats - we did helicopters, that I understand from firsthand adventures! =D

If you can imagine it, it's been done. Period.

Peace,

Fausty
