can u get high frm smokin undeveloped "buds" that are on the female plants? like just the flowers and the white pistils comin out. i know it sounds stupid but i never knew

wait till they dry for better effect ,,,,,,wet buds olny produced a mild heady high that left me feeling groggy.........

How many weeks into flowering are you? If you wanna catch a high from it you should have at least some milky trichomes, if they're all clear you won't feel much if anythign.

try smoking it thru a waterpipe it shoudl burn really slow since its so fresh, it should be doable though..

have fun with that

30 days should be enough. But 30 days from what, the switching to 12/12 or first bud development? Officially you should start counting the flowering time from first bud development, just thought I'd mention this.

good point. yea i meant 30 days into bud growth. i just wanted to test out some of the product before harvesting it within the next few weeks

Well, it's not that big of a deal, for anyone wondering. There's lot's of incriminating posts on here, as long as you don't mention any personal info, say you're a dealer or post about your massive grow-operation (where there is obvious intent to distribute), you're just fine in CD.

You guys. If you're going to smoke fresh nuggets, at least put them in the oven on warm (like 100 degrees) to let them dry out. It takes about 30-40 minutes, and I usually leave the oven door open after it heats up in there, just a crack. Wait until they're completely dry though, to the degree that buds you would purchase are. It is a shameful waste of product to smoke them when wet, as it's extremely difficult to do effectively and won't get you very high at all.

Better yet, wait until the buds are large and seem fully developed, but all the pistils are still white except a few that are starting to turn orange. Harvest one little bud every few days, whenever you see a change in the buds - not much, but just enough to quick-dry it in the oven to test. Have patience, as it takes longer than you'd think for the buds to fully mature even when you think they look pretty nice. In my experience, you should perform your main harvest at some point when around 2/3 of the hairs or so are red/brown. This is difficult to really master, but you'll get better at picking the precise time for your main harvest with practice. Also, any underdeveloped buds, just leave on the plant and let them continue to mature. You should have 1-2 extra harvests, which will be smaller but given a few weeks, those underdeveloped buds will be larger and tastier! This harvesting method is very essential to getting the best quality nuggets for your time, effort, and risk.

You should air dry the harvested nuggets by hanging them upside down by threads or placing them on a screen and protect them from light. In a few days, they'll be dry to the touch. Put them all in large jars, and put the lid on. Open the jar maybe 2-3 times a day at first, as the buds will become moist again as the water moves out from the center. When you open the jars, leave them open for an hour, and then put the lids back on. After a while, you can pretty much always leave the lid on. They will keep getting tastier and more developed for up to a month, and this curing process is also extremely important to getting dank-quality buds. If you don't follow it, you'll have planty-tasting buds that won't be nearly as impressive.

Whew... hope that helps you.

Nicely succinct Xork.

And why the rush Rockin? Smoking undeveloped buds is like teenagers dying in gangfights... just senseless. Let em grow man!

Xorkoth, actually many people prefer looking at their trichomes to determine when to harvest. The best point of potency is when most go from milky to amber. This can happen very fast. Usually people harvest when most trich's are milky. Harvest earlier for a more up high, when there are still clear ones. Harvest later for a more down high, when trichomes are already mostly amber.
The colour of hairs related to the colour of trichomes differ from strain to strain. Some strains are already mostly orange haired while the trichomes say it's not ready yet.

right now the buds are pretty damn covered with trichomes so the time to harvest is comin up soon. the pistils havent really changed color yet so thats what im waiting for, unless by anyone's recommendation, its better to harverst before they all change from white to whatever color(orange)

Mmmm... I'd say you have a while yet. Be patient. The trichomes are there for the majority of the flowing cycle, and, although I concede with Sprinklervibes' point about hairs not being the best indicators, I have found that when they're still completely white, you've got quite a ways to go. You should, indeed, look for the trichomes to turn milky, but realize that both are indicators that can help you to determine when it's harvest time.

And about the hair color, I was merely using that as a general reference to help you determine how much longer you have. The optimal time to harvest varies between strains and individual plants. growing is partly an art, and partly a science, in my opinion.

EDIT: Also, how long has it been since you started the flowing cycle? It will take at LEAST 60 days total, and that's for the quickest of strains. Some strains take 80, 90 or even over 100 days to fully mature. Just to give you a rough timeframe.
